I ordered a 2024 Regular Cab XL short bed in early April and if you like that configuration Ford really limits your options this year.. So forget the Pro Power 2000 watts bigger trucks can get we can't even get the 400 watt dash plug! So I have looking to see what can be done to add additional 12 volt capacity and what might be possible with a quality inverter to have a usable amount of 110 if I want to run a small fridge coffee pot or C-Pap..
But for sure it's not as simple as it used to be. With all the sensitive electronics our trucks have and the management systems that come with that even upgrading to a slightly larger battery has to be done very carefully. I remember when adding a dual battery and isolater was no big deal but I don't think there's even room under the hood on a 2024 for one! I looked at old threads here and started a thread or two but really didn't know exactly what to ask..at least intelligently. So if you don't want carry a small generator and want to power up a 2024 regular cab what might be a reasonable path/way to do it? I would love to safely add a dual battery setup and inverter for convenience and dependability.. When I first seen a 110 outlet in a Super Duty many years ago I thought it was the coolest thing and useful.

I looked at that yesterday.. Thanks! What I'm hoping for is everything built in.

In that case you’re going to have to get creative, most over landing builds I’ve looked at have the second battery and inverter in the bed, you would have to get a battery box and find a spot on the frame to mount the battery, then inverter depending on the size can be installed in the cab behind the seat.

I never considered Integrating extra power to mine, though I like the idea. I recently purchased a portable power pack capable of 1500W output on 110V. Can just plug it in to the 12V socket to charge in the truck when you’re driving to and from campsites and such, or I have a collapsible solar panel that goes with it.
It may not be as fancy as powering things directly from the truck, but it serves the same purpose without having to mess around with the truck’s electronics.

I have always been interested in what is considered 'overlanding' now and spent many hours reading about the Turtle Expedition and how they set up there trucks to basically be self sufficient for trips around the world. Actually lived in a huge Alaskan model slide in truck camper for over 6 months in the 80's. For this little truck that basically is going to be a passenger vehicle my thought is to have that 110-V capacity for a 'just in case' and for day trip fishing at Sunshine Skyway bridge to keep a cooler and be able to run my C-Pap if I need to take a nap. So not a lot of power actually needed for planed use. But considering how dependent the newer trucks are on what many consider marginal factory battery's figuring out a truly dual battery setup that will work with Ford's computer is not near as easy as it was even 10 years ago. I'm willing to invest in a pair of high quality batteries just to make sure my truck will start if it's been sitting 3 or 4 weeks. And if I can get that done adding a inverter to be able to use it is a no brainer. I like the fact you can build a Super Duty with a high output alternator dual battery setup WITH Up fitter switches!
I'm still waiting for my truck to get built..But since Ford won't make a regular cab F-150 with what I want for equipment and options I will try to get it done myself. I'm trying to make a plan and set goals during the long wait and a dual battery setup and inverter that makes sense is a LOT harder and more complicated than picking wheels and tires. Chosing a regular cab complicates things too
