Any DTC? P0A1E is related to the starter/generator (BISG). There is multiple instances of that code. Sometimes it will throw a check engine light, other times it will be ''silent''.

If the DTC is active, truck will not go into electric mode.

I had the issue you have on my 2022 earlier this year. Truck would not go into electric mode, even when warm and idling. Often it would go back to normal after an on/off cycle. Issue would come back after a couple of days. P0A1E was present every time. Sometimes with a CEL.

Took it in to the dealer. There is a TSB on that issue (TSB 23-2347). They ended up replacing the starter/generator under warranty.
mine is doing this throwing that code and showing service engine soon. My truck previous owner had same issue according to
Service notes and they replaced the battery. They didn’t perform that TSB. We’ll see I’m going to try and get it to a dealer but they’re all playing games about we have no availability for weeks…. But if I asked for an oil change they’re suddenly wide open….

Well, I can see this the guy that’s gonna work on the diagnosis of your issue is not the same guy that’s gonna change your oil complete different level of knowledge and experience right there.

I wasn’t expecting to post in this thread again, but almost exactly a year later, it again won’t go into electric mode and now there’s a check engine light on. It has not been wet in a while so that can’t be the issue. It barely has 10k miles on it. I have received 2 updates in the last few days, after not getting one for a long time, and I think that has something to do with it. Is there any way to check the code it’s throwing from the dash? I have FORScan but don’t really want to figure that out again. This is why I was hesitant to get a hybrid, and here we are.

Edit: I posted this after driving to a restaurant. It turned back into a hybrid after driving a while to get home. Still has the check engine light on. The alert history on the FordPass app says no alerts, but I’d think a check engine light would show up there.

Edit 2: About 2 hours later I started it up and no light. I’m relieved but a bit frustrated with the truck.

Following this thread mostly for getting smart on the PB but wanted to ask everyone about something I'm noticing. I do mostly in town driving and always go into electric. The few times that I get in some highway time in use blue cruise. It seems when I'm on the highway it never goes into electric. Honestly, I get better mpg local driving then highway which i think is weird. I don't know if it's not going Electric because of blue cruise or because I'm doing 75. Anyone else see the same thing? Normal? TIA.

I think it has to do with your speed. I don’t go into electric above maybe 50 mph if I had to guess. Maybe cruising downhill it would, but if I’m under power it won’t at highway speed.

Normal.

You will have hybrid drive but only under ideal conditions, much beyond 45mph, will electric only happen.
