You KNOW that I'm happy for you.
Sincerely. ?

But I sure hope you don't totally abandon planB, if you know what I mean. Lol

Let's just say if my new truck springs a leak, I'm NOT giving the dealership my truck.
I was about to go to the muffler shop today! But dealer called on Friday telling me the part arrived. Just on time!

Its’s fixed now, and I am happy. But should it leak again, with this new unit, definitely executing plan B!!

It looks like I’m one of many to have this heat exchanger coolant leak. 2022 powerboost leaking coolant from the heat exchanger. ~1,500km on the truck. First warm day since I got it. How long is everyone waiting on a replacement and is there any fix besides replacing the unit?
I’d suggest start at page 32 of this thread and follow Iceman77 great disassembly photos etc and the potential for a bypass solution And then take a look at the spreadsheet on this thread that tracks the time line that people are experiencing on getting the replacement part.

Is that the dreaded "Exchangerectomy" that all men fear?

I think I would take the same route. Dealing with a little pre-warmup chill is not a problem in SC.

Besides, my first car was a VW bug with rotted-out heat channels so scraping the ice off the inside of the windshield during Cleveland winters was an everyday thing. It was a steep price to inherit a little bit of "character."

We were a much tougher crowd in our youth, weren't we? ?

for me:

rhymeandreasons
Issues After=Yes; Coolant Line Leak 300miles

its not the heat exchanger but im not the first person who's coolant line was installed upside down
So was the coolant line install upside down at the factory, or by the dealer after the heat exchanger was installed.
Also - when did the part arrive and when was it installed?

So I got my truck back today. All looks good but when I got home I crawled under the truck with my super-bright flashlight and inspected everything is connected properly and nothing leaks. Seems the dealer did a good job and after 2 months I am officially leak free! Hope it stays that way!
Glad yours is seemingly fixed. Mine started running hot 3 days ago with only 2800 miles. Dealer told me that he didn’t have any idea when he could get the part. I explained to him that I use my truck as my daily driver but he had no loaner to offer. I guess I’ll have to try to get a rental until the part is available. Thanks Ford.

Well that makes a lot more sense (Going to blame that on working outside in 85 degree tick weather - Hah). Corrected that and moved @iceman77 above the line.

Well, I posted on April 12 after getting the CEL. No leak noticed yet but I did have the engine power reduced yesterday while cruising on the highway for a couple of hours 70-75mph, rolling hills in Western WI, outside air temp 78 deg.F. Received the "Power reduced to lower engine temperature message" but the engine temp indicator remained at 12 o'clock and did not move. (I do not have FORSCAN to program to display). Am watching the coolant level and under the rig closely to monitor for any leaks. Still awaiting the part on back order. This sucks with camping and boating season on the very near horizon and having an unreliable vehicle.
As noted in this thread by others I am in the same boat with the CEL with no leak, but still experiencing the "power reduced..." phenomenon. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?!?! Will be calling the dealer again to see where I am in the back order queue.

Looks like they have the heat exchanger part # ML3ZA212W on back order.
This part has been on backorder ever since this issue popped up among us owners. Only way to get it is via dealer issued emergency order. Make sure they put all the right escalations (such as "vehicle down") on your order. Even after that, it will take time to get this part to you as there is a backlog even for these emergency orders. For me, it took 59 days from the day dealer ordered and the part arrived at the dealership
