Well , time to eat crow pie. Took some time but got the issue solved. Apparently, FORD considers the Tailgate as a door. So the other day, I updated to only open the drivers door on unlock, which as it turns out disables the tailgate unlock , since the software views this as a door in addition to all of the cab doors. So, in this case not the fault of the updates, as in operator error.

6.2.0 last week, 6.3.0 today, hopefully 6.4.0 tomorrow.

2021 Lariat. I just got the 6.4 update. It’s been so long that I’m not sure but I believe it was 9/24 when I got 6.3.
They used to leave the notifications in the Ford Pass app messages but they disappeared at some point.
It’s nice to know that the truck can still receive updates, even though it’s two years behind!

My '21 XLT Job 2 just got the 6.2.0 update on 7/5. Seems like the last time it updated was Dec '23 with 2.7.4... I pretty much figured I was out of the update loop due to age.. now we'll see what else I get. I did notice my truck thought it was an early 2000's ford with it's chime sounds briefly right before the update. I also did notice my radio sounding better too with bass response etc, but I had also just subscribed to apple music so thought maybe it was just the quality of the streaming, but maybe not.

how do I know if I have a job 1 or job 2 truck?

For the 21 model year, Job 1 I think ended somewhere in the beginning of July ‘21. Job 2 was when they started removing stuff and prepping for other features. I lost engine stop/start and I don’t have the trailer sensor box and instead got stickers but yet still have the harness plug for the box. There are other ways to tell too but I don’t know off the top of my head.
