Power-Up 4.2.2 Software with CarPlay Update!

Received my OTA yesterday on my ‘22. System is now Intermittently defaulting back to the main menu after ignition off. Also, screen froze on a track that wasn’t the actual song playing. Required me to select Sirius, go back into CarPlay, and then select a different track on my phone before the system finally synced up.

Too early to ask for another OTA update?

i have been getting very near the same thing while using pandora
if i forget to turn on bluetooth and log into padora before i start truck, it will display the same song even though its not that actual song.
only fix i have found is to log out, turn off bluetooth and then turn blue tooth back on and then tell sync the phone is allowed to play music ...which pissssssess me off because all the permissions were on five minutes prior
if i log in and turn on bluetooth prior to starting truck, it works perfect except i have to play pandora through the phone bluetooth, vice the app

i am at a loss at why the truck keeps LOOSing my phone ?
also the 911 icon comes and goes depending on which screen is displayed.
I.E. the map with cards on side the 911 assist icon shows up
if the screen is half map, then the radio button and the phone below it with the settigns and apps icons on far left the 911 assist icon is GONE

I think I have received this update at least twice now, but maybe more? Really haven't noticed much difference since the first time. Maybe they are tweaking and resending it? Doesn't sound like the right way to do that though.

I haven't noticed any of those issues during my hours on the road every day. I installed the update via FDRS as soon as it came out. I did do a factory reset after installing FWIW.

After this update, when using Carplay for Map navigation, I am unable to get the radio to function unless I go into Audio and select the source i.e. AM or FM.

I just received this the other day and now wireless CarPlay is completely broken, I’m not able to turn on wireless projection.

I’m also getting weird audio glitches when the reverse camera switches on.

You aren't the first to report this issue with that OTA. I am in no rush to get it sent to me.

Is there a method to flag this with Ford outside of the built in feedback system?

Ford has an OTA hotline where you can call and report the issue, but they can't do anything about it. The people that answer the phone there are not trained techs or software developers. They just field phone calls and fluff you up to make you feel better. At this point, I am sure Ford is well aware of the problems with this update. When will truck owners get a fix? Your guess is as good as mine.

I wonder if this update is causing issues only with carplay users as I have not seen any Android users report these problems with 4.2.2.

Seen this issue with a Mach E also. Definitely related to the CM(4.2.2) release

Have you heard of Sync 23031 having issues on a ‘21? I’m on my second day with the new software and haven’t seen a problem. I am using CarPlay.

The FordPass app is also getting wacky, seems to think it’s chargeable like a Lightning?
