I just received this e-mail from Ford. Not sure what this means but I have a 2021 Job 1 Lariat.

I got the email too for my Job 1 2021. The email promises simplified screens. I'm not sure they're overly complicated now. I'm very curious what they are planning.

Ford is shipping all us F150 owners new Sync4 screens for our non-Lightning trucks.

HammaMan is suggesting we not waste our time retrofitting.
I think I trust his advice.
He would know.

I don't need no stinking hardware upgrade. My truck is working perfectly fine, thank you very much! LOL

I got this email too! 21 Job 1 with the stuck update problem--maybe they have found a way to fix that? I'm assuming the hardware upgrade to 4A is sarcasm... but I want it to be real

Got tired of waiting on Ford so bit the bullet and got the Mongoose downloading APIM at 4gb/5gb being loaded on thumb drive I was stuck on 3.52 right before ACP full screen

I had very mixed emotions when I finally broke mine free with a mongoose. It was very rewarding to get everything working, but also very frustrating that I had to go through the journey in the first place. Congrats on finally getting the truck you paid for!

Same here. 2021 Job 1 and got the email a half hour ago. I clicked the link to "see what's coming" assuming it would show some images. Should have known better, it was a bunch of sales talk about all the wonderful things to expect.
I also noticed a lot of mention that you had to be connected to WiFi. I could have sworn there was some discussion earlier on this thread that OTA's did not require WiFi. So digging around a little more I finally found a definitive statement saying WiFi will update faster but the onboard modem should also work.

I am a network engineer. I have an enterprise class firewall and router on my home network. I park in my garage with an enterprise class, current generation wireless access point directly above my truck. I see traffic between my truck and the internet in my logs daily. All of the traffic between my truck and Ford in the 13 months I have had my truck combined doesn’t total the size of most of these updates individually.

I love seeing other network and Tech people on here. Same results, I have my truck on its own isolated subnet. Boring packet captures, minimal I/o

Just got 4.2.1 today while driving. Curiously, I think it skipped from 3.5.3.2. I could be wrong though.

Good idea to take it back to the bedliner installer. Ford is aware of aftermarket bedliners potentially causing problems if not installed properly and has instructed dealers not to fix these issues under warranty. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2022/MC-10228884-0001.pdf

Well that was easy and kinda dumb...
When I called the guy he acted like he knew exactly the problem. Apparently the entire cable was unplugged underneath the truck.
Wish he woulda just told me, I woulda done myself.

My truck has been undriven on a battery tender for 2 1/2 weeks while I was out of town. At the 2 week mark Ford Pass tells me its in deep sleep mode. Started the truck yesterday and Ford Pass says I have 4.2.1. What is early access?

I called FordPass hotline They said I needed 90% full gas tank and connected home wi-fi and the parking brake on to get OTA updates the last one was 9/22 so fixed it with Mongoose got about half way pick it up in the am
