Power Tailgate ?

Hi all

I am wondering if there is something broken on with my power tailgate when it’s going up. There is a fairly loud snapping or clicking sound just before it close.
The few I have seen on YouTube do not seem to be exhibiting the same noise.

Any one else notice this same issue?

The torsion rod in the gate to assist in closing is slipping. Pretty common issue. Dealership will need to diagnose and replace.

Have mine in today for this same reason. Dealer found worn pivot arm associated with torsion bar within tailgate. A replacement arm is not available, and a new torsion bar does not come with pivot arm. They are replacing my entire tailgate.

Really. Replacement of complete tailgate. That seems ridiculous. Hope the paint matches rest of truck.

I was also thinking and you know its gonna happen at some point, if tailgate will not open and bed cover is down, now what?
