I found a ford vehicle
But it has the lge 4g delete
But dors have 360 cameras and rear ac etc
Since vehicle uses cell to update.
Wouldn't thst mean most of the needed parts for live wifi is in there and a simple module could get it the lge 4g to work

WiFi in the truck is irrelevant to the truck updating. I have poverty model (STX) with no WiFi module (4G) and its update 3x in two weeks.

What model? Does it have connected navigation? Just curious if the 4g delete is for the hotspot and not the connected vehicle features (those are different).

YES its 2023 explorer ST . has connected nav, 360 adaptive cruise ventilated seats etc but the 4 lge / wifi thing was deleted in both vehicles

it was built in march of last year so i am using the its been sitting line to get her interested
they have a king ranch version but i has the 360 camera delete..which is a no go on 60k vehicle

she does not want a new ride, but the edge is 2012 and its lacking in the key safety stuff she loves in my truck. sneaky i have to be. it only has adaptive cruise and heads up flashy thing to alert before a collision and AEB.
but no stop go cruise or evasive steering or 360 cameras and is sync 2


i prefer the king ranch model...but again the 360 camera delete is a deal breaker for me

I have Wi-Fi disabled on my truck and I get updates....

That does not do the updates, that's only if you want to use a laptop, iPad, etc in the truck and not hot spot of your phone. You have to pay AT&T for a subscription to use it.

Since it has connected nav, sync would still have a 4g let connection for there services. That's how updates would come in.

No satelite, updates are via 4g LTE, sync has a modem to connect. Also how ford pass works.

i like the 4g wifi in my truck i very rarely loose pandora and we have horrible cell coverage here and for some reason the truck using the trucks wifi , i hardly ever loose cell

I guess it depends how often you would actually use WiFi in the vehicle. Not something I need with unlimited phone data plans and can hot spot off my phone for other devices.

Jesse might be the one to ask about mods like that. I'm not sure with it not coming from factory if you can turn it on and get it 100% working. Ford might not let you pay subscription for something your vehicle isn't supposed to have on it.

Is your wife and my wife related? My 2015 Platinum ended depreciation so my CPA said to buy another truck. I didn't want to cuz I loved my old '15 but my wife's 2014 Explorer could be refreshed. She refused getting a new rig and that's why I bought my new truck.
I really wish she liked larger automobiles because I would rather put her in an Expedition than an Explorer but her car so....

She is over the moon with her edge, it's her 2nd one. In her view it's perfect size, etc
But it's imo not nearly as safe as I want for her . Our 16 expedition she really liked. But does not want anything that big.
The safety stuff in my 22 has saved us quite a few times with our horrible drivers

It appears that the router from WAN 4G to LAN WiFi is deleted, not 4G MODEM for cellular service? I would imagine you still have WiFi for CarPlay/AA?

The ST is a bad ass ride. They love being tuned, too. I've seen some in YouTube modified making some stupid power. I love them.

Go for the ST, it looks like an unmarked police vehicle! People will move over when they see that in there rear view. ? ?
You wont have to worry about terrible drivers they'll move aside for you.
