Still having this issue after 6 months with Bc. Overall I feel like the system is pretty good but this issue really needs to get fixed since straight roads are the area where I most want hands free. I find myself driving around 50/50 hands on hands free with BC generally which I don’t mind - I tend not to think about it I just grab the wheel regularly still - especially around curves/traffic but on straight empty stretches it’s annoying to have to get it out of pinball mode.

I still find the best use case far and away to be sitting in traffic. It is really really nice to just sit back when it is stop and go.

The lane centering assist does the same thing. For that reason I generally don't use it at high speeds. Wanders and hugs the side of the lane sometimes.

Resurrecting this, I am wondering if the “wide” highway lanes in Texas are maybe part of the problem.. But then realized i’d hope Ford accounted for it ?

After 4000 miles of driving my new truck I no longer use Lane Centering and rarely use Blue Cruise.

Lane Centering is just too "loose" between lane markers. There are 2-lane divided roads in my rural community that have the outside lane stripe sit almost underneath the rail barrier, which makes LC too dangerous for use. The truck strays way to close to them and it's not safe. When used on other road types, with gentle curves, the truck always moves dangerously close to the lane dividing stripe or outside lane stripe and I have to intervene.

There is so much variation in how LC guides the truck that I can't use it and drive safely. If I have to keep my hands on the steering wheel and constantly intervene to maintain lane safety, then I might as well disable it and drive with confidence.

The same applies to Blue Cruise hands-free driving. The underlying technology that keeps the truck lane centered is flawed.

If Ford can improve functionality with future updates then LC and BC may become useful and safe for me to use.
