I am looking for what PID you are using to monitor your battery charge using MX+ reader. I started messing around with my set up today and found 2 voltage readings which are interesting but not quite what i am looking for i think.

My pleasure.

I know at first glance it can look like a lot of information and leave the wrong impression. But the human brain is remarkable and can, in a very short time, become one with it.

I suppose that's how pilots can calmly sit in a cockpit and make sense of those insane number of gauges and information?

Feel free to ask any questions. It's what lends value to the forum for others. And if you can't tell, I really enjoy the subject matter. :)

Here's the main dashboard screen that I leave mine on most of the time. The EV Battery SOC is in BECM in the Ford Enhanced PID's. It's called Battery Pack State of Charge. The EV battery current is in the SAE PID's under Hybid/EV Battery System Current.

I apologize again for the silly question. Is that dashboard on your phone or tablet? If so, do you have a holder mounted so you can see it easily while driving?

What APP are you using with the Ford PID's? I don't see them in the OBD MX+ APP, but it could be that i am not looking in the right place.

You should know that I don't mind the questions. It's a spare phone with no Sim in it. It connects to the trucks Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth Sync, and the OBDLink. So it's one-with-the-truck and belongs to the truck.

My personal phone is for Bluetooth calls and my incoming corporate email in Sync only. I try to never touch it while driving. I love to drive (anything) and enjoy looking out the windshield. :)

Proclip holder. Perfect line of sight

You must add the Ford/Lincoln/Mercury package into OBDLink app. It's free if you purchased the MX+.
It's what the "+" stands for. You already paid for 1 brand of pids.

It's worth every penny when you see the Ford library

Alright, thanks i think. I do have the MX+ and found the Ford PID's. That is a lot more info to go through. I can see why you like this system.

Yes sir.
I'm an old man having a ball with what these kids (in my context) are inventing while I sleep every night.

The smartphone, the OBDLink adapter and app, and the Powerboost itself?
It's all like a candy store for someone wired like myself. ?

I might be in the last chapters of my mortal story, but it's a fascinating time. I'm going to enjoy it and marvel while most around me seem to not even notice? ?

Another amazing thing about the Powerboost.......

You don't have to be in any kind of hurry to probe all those PIDs to see what they are.

You don't even have to sit in the truck! I park the truck near the RV and start it up. Turn off the headlights if it's night. Turn off HVAC, because you aren't in it. Turn off Sync if you really want to be a miser.

Now go sit in a comfortable chair within 20-30 feet of the truck. Get a glass of ice tea. Put some music on.

Create a new dial gauge and start mapping it to any PID that strikes your fancy. ?

Truck ain't using gas but for about a minute every 20-30 minutes or so.

The whole thing is incredible, if you really think about it. Wasn't that long ago that NONE of this even existed. Go back to my young adult years, this would all be science fiction!

My first thought was "Silver Alert!" ;) I like your setup. Let's you focus on the road and since scanning the 12" is part of my driving routine already, my eye will catch the monitor on the way.
Is that Ford Nav on the screen? Looks nice.

Yes, Ford Nav.

Sync4 broke me from Android Auto.
I know that causes some eyerolls, but I find AA a compromise that just doesn't weigh out in the truck.
