Hi All: I have 23 XLT PB and looking for more real time information on things like trans temp, coolant temp, oil temp/pressure and possibly Li ion battery state of charge.

I know there are apps like Torque Pro, Forscan and others, but it is a bit confusing on what is best. I am willing to pay for a turn key solution, if available. My son gets information for his Fiesta ST from a Cobb tuner I believe.

I prefer NOT to modify my computer modules code/settings via Forscan. I already had one issue with the GPS not working and I do not want to give Ford or dealer any excuse.

can someone share with me the best options? I do have an old Galaxy S5 I can use, if Torque Pro is the answer, but I don’t think I can get transmission temp (maybe I can’t get that anywhere), but coolant temp, transmission temp and oil temp are most important to me. I tow a TT and I would like to monitor temps as opposed to just watch numberless gauges on my dash.

you would think that Ford would have put this somewhere in the Sync display, even my Subaru Outback monitors and displays oil temp if it is selected.

I appreciate the insight. Thanks.

You have come to the right place sir. I have not gone down that rabbit hole yet, but there are some data point experts here who are happy to share their expertise.

You can search through @Snakebitten posts. He's got a lot of good info on monitoring scattered around.

ForSCAN mods are not an issue, as you are only turning on or turning off options that are available. If Ford didn't want that available, they wouldn't have included it. Something to consider.

Unfortunately, even with several hundred PIDs available for monitoring on these trucks, I've not found yet a method to view oil temperature on a non-Raptor 3.5 Ecoboost.

Even oil pressure requires full version of Forscan or a tuning device that supports the oil pressure Pid. (none of the IPhone/Android device apps do)

Transmission Temps are available on the instrument cluster if you are Lariat or above, but you'd have to use Forscan to enable it.

But, unless I am misunderstanding all of the threads, I cannot get what I am looking for with ForScan, plus I need a big display (since I have XLT) to be able to monitor. If I could get coolant temp and Transmission temp, as a minimum, this would work. But I am not seeing a solution for that.

is there a way to enable transmission temp monitor on another solution for an XLT? Any aftermarket solutions?

I went through their drop down menu and it stopped at 2020. But, thanks for the info. Only coolant temp that I care about, nothing related to trans temp or oil temp/pressure. Surely, this data has to be somewhere in the truck CPU/monitoring system

It's amazing that the Gen14 XLT digital dash is every bit the equal of the Gen13 Limited dash, yet we haven't found a crack for the digital temps yet. It's crazy.

Even more bizarre is Ford eliminating what WAS exclusive to the previous XLT display..... The large Digital Transmission Temp option in the truck information section.

If you have the 12" display, using ForSCAN you can turn on digital temp display for the engine and transmission. That was one of the first mods I made.

Is there no way to get transmission temp on an XLT even using the OBD Link MX+?
