2021 Ford F-150 Lariat Powerboost
I think I know the answer by reading several of these threads, but I was wondering if anyone else is having a multitude of the issues discussed on this forum? I have a 2021 PowerBoost Lariat FX4 502A package with B&O Sound System. Since I purchased it in October 2021 I have experienced several issues which all appear to be related to electronics.

1. The trailer brake module/ controller kept giving 2 errors showing "fault". This went on for several months and several trips to the dealership. Of course when I attempted to take action through Ford Customer Service, several of the visits were not documented. When we finally got to the point Ford was going to buy back the truck, they miraculously fixed the issue. At least the faults disappeared. I have read issues of the trailer brake failing while trailering. Hopefully I will not experience this horror.
2. While out of town, I went to drive my truck and could not get the vehicle out of park. I tried several times over the course of an hour to re-start the truck hoping it would "reset". After looking up the issue on-line, I found out this was a major issue with the vehicle. I walked home (to where I was staying), and returned the next morning expecting to call a tow truck. I was pleasantly surprised when the truck went into drive. I immediately drove to the local dealership for assistance (LOL)! I was asked if I had an appointment, as if I had scheduled this event to occur! Luckily, someone with common sense stepped in before I lost my mind. The truck may have had 1,500 miles at this point. They advised they had a bulletin in reference to this and said they would reprogram the module and if that didn't work they would have to order a new gear shift module. Thankfully that worked and I was able to make it home.
3. Again while traveling, my radio/ navigation screen had multiple screens on at the same time. The Apple CarPlay navigation was on, the screen management screen was on and all the touch screen buttons for both were active. I was unable to clear this issue without pulling off the road and shutting the vehicle down for several minutes. After re-starting, this issue cleared up.
4. Most recently, first thing in the morning I went to my truck and the second I pushed the start button, I heard a loud tone which sounded like a horn sounding. This was extremely loud and disorienting and lasted for a few seconds immediately followed by a very loud cracking sound. This sounded like every window in the truck exploded. At first I had no idea what was going on and did not realize this was all coming from the radio. After that all was quiet until I started trouble shooting and I realized it was the radio. Although the radio appeared normal, there was no volume. When I attempted to switch to bluetooth music, the crackling came back. This lasted for approximately 30 minutes before returning to normal.

These are the issues I have had to deal with since purchasing the truck in October 2021. It is an awesome looking truck and I bought it expecting to have a nice truck for my travels. With it being a a PowerBoost I was hoping for a more economical option. Now I am more concerned than ever I have made a huge mistake and fear I have a lot more of the issues I have read about on this forum in my future.

Hi there. These electronic concerns don't sound like something we want you to experience with your F-150. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.

Have you ever had anyone look up your VIN and see how many updates are available for your truck?
The highly optioned 2021 F150 is notorious for having a bunch of updates to address a myriad of issues and features.
Mine has about 24 in total and by the time they were all applied the truck was more polished in so many ways. As well as having features added.

Several others with random electronics related issues have reported success when the 12V battery under the hood was replaced.

It might not hurt to access the fuse box under hood and in behind front passenger kick panel and push them in to ensure they are properly seated. Several gremlins have been resolved by doing this according to posts in forums. (can't hurt)

You likely need a new battery and APIM module. Shifter stuck in Park is another issue, which i have experianced myself and am going to the dealer for later today. AGAIN....Oh...i had that loud crack too couple month ago, followed by loud popping sound out the speakers as well as a no-start issue, and a tow to the dealer, when the battery was replaced. I think FORD needs to start paying me for my time wasted by dealing with all their problems and all the agravation it's causing me!!!

Hey Guys thanks for the responses. After reading your responses and other forums on the new PowerBoost, I finally found the solution! I traded the truck in and went back to a Chevrolet! Problem solved. Good luck. Hopefully Ford finds a fix for all these issues.
