I can't believe I wasted all that time at the dealerships when it was that easy to fix myself.
You are in a good company with that dismay. Don't waste your time on regret.
Well done, by the way.

If you just need to fix the scales, there's no value edits in Forscan, just run the following height sensor calibration tool. Before you do anything to any module in Forscan, make sure you save the as-built back up file for that module in case you ever need to put it back the way it was. Thanks @DK4 for the screenshots, I have used these several times for people asking me questions.

If you changed your tire size to something different than stock and now your speedometer and other things are off, that will involve some Forscan edits. If so, let me know and I can tell you what I did to get mine all right again.

Awesome thank you for laying it out. I’ll have a Bilstein level and bigger tires also. Once that’s all installed I’ll likely be reaching out to you ??

The dash screen just stays on zero and don’t move when you apply weight to the bed. No errors or warnings. On the app, it says scale system not functional, take to dealer.
I was curious which screen you meant? I’ve noticed the visual scale on mine updates ;but it starts WAY high, like 300-400lbs or so) while the numerical scale is always zero. One time the numerical scale reflected true weight (after I zeroed it with me outside the vehicle, thankfully I have longish arms!).
Today, I loaded 570lbs of junk (weighed at the dump). I’m 185, and I conservatively estimate there’s 50lbs of “stuff” added (cover, gear, etc). Visual scale said ~900 (so only about 100 off today) and numerical scale still said 0.
So will the Forescan method still work for this or is this a separate issue?

For mine, when it didn't work neither screen worked until I ran the recalibration tool that fixed both screens. If you have one screen moving around and the other stuck on zero, sounds like you might be having a different problem. They don't really give you any hard numbers on either screen, it looks like the tool is mostly to keep you from exceeding your payload, not really to be used to grab an exact weight. I don't think its intended to be precise enough to offer you that kind of info. But, if you think your two screens are not reflecting the same thing, if it were me id run that suspension sensor recalibration tool in forscan and see if that fixes it and start there. You have to take everything out of your truck before running the tool according to the instructions.

Thanks! I got some research to do before I try Forescan but I’m keen to try this and a few other simple mods.

To update a little.... I had a 'drive control fault, service required' light come on. It comes on every time I start the truck. Took it in a week or so ago and was told in the ride ride sensor failed.

My service advisor said the part is on back order. About 6-8 weeks out. He mentioned it's not a problem he's encountered a lot so believes it's on back order not due to supply but because Ford is making a change to the part and the new part isn't released yet.

Just thought that info might be relevant as there may be an issue with faulty ride height sensors.....

Bumping this back up cause I'm wondering now if the level could cause an inaccurate reading?

Towed my trailer home this past weekend. Dry hitch weight is 728 lbs. Two RV batteries plus 2 - 1/2 full propane tanks. All tanks in trailer empty.

In the box of the truck was a 6' plastic folding table and half full small cooler (1/2 full of pop cans)
+ two director style folding camp chairs.

In the cab was me, the petite wife and our 20 lb dog.

According to the tail light sensors, hitch weight was good:

But scales showed I'm maxed out:

So, say wet hitch weight is 850 lbs and top end 300 lbs in the cab.

Figure there's no way I'm out almost 650 lbs....

Unless I'm missing something?

@780 What does it say when empty?

It's still not empty. Just snapped this pic now.

The above mentioned items are still in the box less the cooler.

With those items in the box (folding table, 2 director chairs also forgot about a rubber maid tote full of kindling) my scales are showing half full with me in the truck (180 lbs) and the trailer disconnected. I can't imagine those items in the box currently weigh more than 100 lbs combined.

I added 150 lbs as an estimated weight of cargo and passengers not in the vehicle in the scales menu as well to account for the wife, dog and various crap in the cab.

Okay.... completely emptied the box out last night of the above mentioned items.

So box is completely empty.

Have a couple items under the rear seat... Bungee cords, tow strap, receiver shackle, couple hitch pins, propane gauge, 4 ratchet straps, booster cables and 1st aid kit.

I've added 150 lbs to compensate for the weight in the cab aside from myself.

Checked scales.... and they still read the same....

My tail light sensors were just fixed under warranty a couple weeks ago.

Wondering if the sensors were not calibrated correctly.

Now my truck is out of the bumper to bumper warranty.... :explode:
