Hi all. Took delivery of a 2024 in November.

When I first got the truck the scales were properly zeroed. I.e. with e standing outside the truck the scales would read 0 (with tonneau on). Now after first oil change, ceramic coating, underbody oiling, and REMOVING stock tonneau cover I noticed scales are sensing weight with nothing in the truck. Not sure if anything I mentioned is related at all. Did some searching here and seems dealer may need to do scale calibration through FDRS.

Anyone here experience something similar? Once they "zero it" how do I prevent this issue from recurring?

How much weight are you showing over now?

I never checked my 23 scales when I picked it up and ended up adding some things to it before I ever got around to checking the scale option. I feel like mine were never calibrated correctly from the beginning because it said I added a lot more weight than what I thought I had. I've always wanted to "go back to stock form" and test my theory but never have yet.

Hmm, underbody oiling. Did they coat the sensors/ arms so maybe they aren’t moving as freely?

there's no numeric number but it's showing maybe an 1/8 of my total payload used up with me standing outside with no cargo in truck

The onboard scales feature is a gimmick. It isn't accurate and doesn't provide value. If you are towing, use CAT scales. If you need to go to home depot and load some mulch or sod, just don't sag too much or hit the bump stops, and drive smart.

Could it be possible the things added to the truck actually have registered some weight?

UGADawg96 echoes what I've heard when researching the on-board scales feature. My truck has it but folks say it isn't that accurate.

Its probably good for a quick check and maybe a short low-speed drive through town to the dump or something. If you're gonna haul or tow heavy, I'd probably also suggest the CAT scales.

So for anyone that was following , the issue I was having is related to how much gas is in the truck. Seems backwards, but, if I have a full tank of gas, the scales read zero with nothing in the truck. If I have a half tank of gas, the scales will read that there’s weight in the truck when there is really nothing.

That does seem backwards.

Could computer be doing some calculated guessing?

I would expect, because I think this is how payload is calculated, it would read full capacity with a full tank of gas and no driver. Any deviation from there would change it.
