I installed it on my coyote, it's picked up quite a bit of stuff. Glad that's not going back into the intake; even if it is safe to do so as some may have claimed in this thread.

I'm also glad I didn't throw away the OEM tube to put back in when it goes to service...but frankly, I have a year left on the warranty anyway. I'll just let the dealer know I'm modded and tuned before I go for my first 10k service (out of state purchase with 6300 miles).

Hey guys,
Has anyone ever heard of putting an oil separator on the 5.0? I know they are beneficial on any turbo engine but wasn’t aware of a benefit for the 5.0. I posted the link below to get your opinion. These guys make some good videos on the F150.

I went with UPR’s Catch Can. They’re the best in the business. Do your own research and you’ll see why they have a class leading design in how they manufacture and build their catch cans. They can be a little pricey but you definitely get what you pay for which is quality. From the can all the way to the hoses/connectors the quality is great! I myself have gotten their 5.0L catch can for my Coyote, Clean Side Separator, added the Billet Pro Series Check Valve on my hoses, Adjustable Hi-Flo Billet PCV Fitting and Billet One-Way Crankcase Breather (to replace my engine oil cap to help engine get rid of extra crankcase pressure under high boost). I’ve seen people try to compare UPR to J&L or K&N and it’s not even close! Here are pictures of my setup.

Do you have a turbo (or two) hidden somewhere or pending a whipple install?

Getting a Whipple soon but everything I have right now can run on stock. Only thing I’ll be changing after the Whipple install is the jet size tip for my adjustable high flow billet pcv. The billet one way crankcase breather only opens up under high boost. Other than that it works just like a regular oil cap. Up Country Fab traction bars is my next mod.

I fix software bugs!
I looked and looked and the price ranges wildly. I landed on UPR mainly because they are middle of the road in price and I like their baffling setup.

At the time UPR only had a little version for the 2022 5.0. I used it for a year or more and seemed to do a fine job between oil changes (5000 miles). The proof was evident when I installed a supercharger. When I pulled the OEM intake manifold it was dry as a bone.

UPR eventually came out with a newer style that I upgraded to. It worked as well, catching roughly the same amount of oil as the smaller version.

Then one day, looking at my workbench I thought, hm… what to do with the smaller version. So I connected the smaller version to the newer version. I figured two is better than one, right.

I half expect little to no oil in the smaller can, right? I suppose there is some level of efficiency in the collection of atomized oil, but how much…

I have a little over 3K miles on the oil now. So we’ll see what’s what at 5K ?

I installed a catch can setup. What I have observed is that in the warm months (April thru October) only a trickle of oil is trapped in the catchcan. However, in the colder months, and most notably in January thru early March, when it gets really cold in Wyoming, alot of watery stuff accumulates. I have to empty the catch can every 500 miles or so.

Well I figured I should follow up on this. I built my kit and have been running it a while. Pretty happy with it.

I installed a J & L catch can on my '22 F150 5.0 right after purchase. Removed it once before returning for recall work. Not my daily driver, 50% of time it's towing my 19 foot RV trailer. Initially was catching 3 to 4 oz. in 2000 miles, that improved & now to collect 3 oz takes about 4000 miles. Again this is towing.
