Oil Capacity for 2024 Powerboost

Ok, just had the dealer (used Fordpass points) do the 1st Oil Change on my 24 Powerboost. He comes out and says they charged a little more because their price is based on 6 quarts and that since my 24 pb took 7.8 quarts to fill up.
Everything I've read says 6 quarts , so did I just get lied to ?

Sounds like you got dealered -- or they overfilled it.

I'd be checking that oil level!

I've only put in 6qts. Any ecoboost is 6qts.

Sounds like they were using the oil capacity for a 5.0L

Come to think of it , dealer gave me some other guys paperwork by accident instead of mine , I bet he just mixed up things and meant to tell the other guy that. I was ready to go full Karen lol
The other guys charge was within $2 of mine , but I used Mobile 1 full synthetic so that makes sense I guess. 7.8 quarts regular oil vs 6 qts full synthetic close in price ? IDK but thanks for answering my question guys

Manual says 6 quarts. I've always put in 6, level is in the normal range. This is after draining for about 1/2 hour.

It could have been an honest mistake but it would be nice to see the "original" real paperwork and see how many quarts they have listed for your correct engine.

"Honest" mistakes can be a common practice to rip off people. If the customer catches the honest mistake they just say they are sorry and refund the money. How many people do not catch that honest mistake and the facility makes more $$$ at your expense. This practice is often seen in the medical profession too.

1st time I changed the oil on my 24 Powerboost, I used a motorcraft fl500s filter and six quarts of oil. Level was perfect

Hi Bruce, I was changing the engine oil two days ago and at 6 quart after driving for a day and allowing it to rest on level ground it was at the half way on the dipstick hashed marking. I added 0.2 quarts and it is near the top of the hashed marking. I always warm up the engine and allow to drain for a good 10-15 minutes. Do you think I overfilled?

When I changed the oil and filter, I had 6 quarts.
Oil level is always right at full
I check oil at least weekly, I most often check it cold. When it’s cold it’s about 3/16 of an inch below the full mark.

I take it when it’s cold because it’s easier to see and quicker as I don’t allow the engine to warm up

With 6.2 quarts on 2% sloped garage floor I am still below the top of the hashed area.

I am starting to think the measuring cup I purchased from a dollar store may be off. I will compare it to a cooking cup to see if the reading is off.
