Like I said, if you're interested in the next trade-in...
As for my remarks on "the long haul" the measure of success is the oil consumption interval. If you meet the minimum spec, you'll likely see it declining as you get out close to 100,000. I have a GMC 350 cubic inch engine at 600,000 that is still getting >4,000 miles to the quart. For those interested in getting to a trade-in around 2-4 years out, No sweat, go for it. If you're interested in getting out to 20 or 30 years... then there's a difference. Pick your poison. :)
Care to elaborate on that? Can you provide a reference to the official statement from Ford about this?
Oh, come on...

With a gas engine, especially one manufactured after 2016, any synthetic with the recommended viscosity range is as good as any other. There is no requirement to have oil changes done at the dealer for the warranty and dealers in my area charge nearly double what the independent shops charge.

With the 3.5L engine Ford's recommendation is for synthetic or synthetic blend motor oil. I use whatever the local shop has on hand in the 5W-30 viscosity. I buy and bring a motorcraft filter as some places use no name filters and I prefer to spend the additional $6 for the Ford one.

Oil changes are as simple as it gets on the 14th gen!

My trucks a 5.0 but I feel quality oils translate across different powertrains. I’m currently running penszoil ultra platinum with a FOMOCO filter. Hopefully this can guide you!
Penzoil is no better than Mobile 1, or motorcraft, a host of other oils.

Pick a name brand oil and stick with it.

Dont get sucked into the marketing.

Can you buy the Olive oil with the Garlic already infused, or do you do it yourself? Inquiring for a friend...
I normally buy it infused. It helps cushion the main and rod bearings

No reason to stick to a brand. Use what is on shelf at the time with the correct viscosity.

Oil is oil and will meet minimum spec always. Some brands exceed the spec to varying degrees. Oil analysis helps with seeing that. Generic Walmart brand synthetic will easily go 10k miles but it starts getting low on additives around that time. Following the "oil monitor" and it will be changed well before it starts to lose any protection.

Many recommend putting the services into FordPass but from what I can tell dealer service department can't see those records.

I worked for Mobil through college, so naturally i find no fault there on the lubricant. on the filters.. the motorcraft is a 30 micron i think. i stick with it.. there are some issues if the filter material migrates into the engine so i think you best stick with Ford filters...
