Hi All - hopefully, someone can send me in a direction. I received my MX+ today and I cannot get it to link with my iPhone using OBDLink app. The BT shows connected, but nothing works, does not recognize any vehicle and the last part of the setup process with the “Accessory List” remains empty.

I must be doing something wrong.

suggestions? I have removed and reinserted the adapter several times and tried to repair from scratch, but no change. Thanks.

IOS BlueTooth and the MX+ do have issues. I would "Forget" the MX+ Bluetooth connection, delete and reinstall the OBDLink App, then wait for a while for the device to show up in the "Accessory List". It has taken up to a minute for the device to show.

Even with all that about once a month the BlueTooth connection runs into trouble and you may need to do a fresh install.

I did finally get it tow work, after about 8 tries.

HOWEVER, if I shut off the PB, the displays no longer work. They just show 0’s.

I also tried Torque Pro on an old Galaxy S5, but that did not work either. Maybe I will try OBDLink on the Android.

I mean when I restart the PB, the MX+ connects, but displays don’t work. Of course, when I turn the truck off, everything is 0 ?

I think it is an issue with the MX+. It loses connection. I also connected on my old Android S5, worked for 5 mins then lost connection and, though connected with BT as indicated by the phone, it will not communicate/link with the MX+. Thus, no data.

Other suggestions?

Will this OBDLink MX works on my 2006 Corolla? The check engine light is on, I’m thinking of buying this device to check what the code is. Thanks!

Connected to my truck for the first time and downloaded the enhanced add-ons too. It was like Christmas morning! I have to go into the office now, but wow there are many hours of fun to be had with this OBDLink MX+ wonder device! :D

It should. OBDII started in 1996, though I do not know what specific support for your car. You can email them. They are very quick with responses.

There are less expensive, OBDII readers you can get from Harbor Freight that work well for diagnostic codes, if you don’t plan to use the full capabilities of this device.

I have four OBDII vehicles. Can my OBDLink MX+ keep separate profiles or folders for them?

not sure. I have not seen multiple profile capabilities, but it does not mean it is not in there. I would like this capability as well. But, I have not had time to really research it. Documentation provided with purchase is quite limited.

I'm doing a little reading on line and there seem to be ways to even link dashboards for common OBDII PIDs between vehicles so I think it supports multiple vehicles. So far I just have the 22 F-150 3.5L Full Hybrid named Samson lol. I haven't had time to do anything but successfully connect yet. Like a newborn baby ?

Under settings, general, uncheck box for simple dashboards.

Then you'll have menu option on dashboard screen to manage the dashboard for the currently selected vehicle.

Select your vehicle under vehicle icon hit menu top right and use select option. This should be done automatically when connected to vehicle. You can use the app to setup your dashboards from your recliner so might want to pick one manually.
