I ordered a battery monitor and Amazon sent me the item in the picture below so I went to a local store and grabbed it!! I have observed something with PowerBoost so please correct me if I am wrong. I like to automatically start the truck 5-10 minutes before leaving home during the colder months and I noticed based on the battery monitor the AGM is not being charged during the time it is running in automatic start mode. Is that a correct observation? Off topic, I also noticed the app doesn't refresh after the automatic start session has ended. Is it a know issue or there is a setting that needs to be changed?

I'd be a little miffed at $25 for a couple of pacifiers, but I do have a little grandson who'd be OK with it.

I need to do a remote start and verify for you, but I would think that the DC/DC converter would definitely be running regardless.
That doesn't mean it would be supplying charging current though.

Still, didn't the voltage at least increase to 12.7V once the truck started? That's higher voltage than the battery usually is just sitting in these trucks, unless it's been charged lately or is brand new.

I also think it's been confirmed that the BMS is aware of whether the FOB is in the truck or not. It literally changes the charging strategy. I think the door has to be closed too.

There must be an amazing amount of code running all the time on these trucks.

@Snakebitten I’ve got the Noco 5 and while I have seen it get all the way to green when left overnight in the past, the most recent few times I’ve used it I don’t get past the single red pulsing bar.

I was connected directly to the pos/neg battery terminals (I have the eyelet version permanently attached) but moved the negative to a frame location recently, thinking that might help.

I follow the order that the manual states. Hook up my connections to the charger first and then give it AC power.

Today I even used the keypad to get in and pop the hood so I didn’t wake the truck up by walking up to it. Still red.

For reference here are my connections. The positive cover is normally down but I pulled it back for the photo.

Am I doing something wrong?

I don't think you can do anything wrong, to be honest.
I mean as long as you have it hooked up in correct polarity.

I dropped a Noco 10 on concrete and I admit that it hit the slab with a solid thud.
It never worked again. It wasn't electrically dead, but it just errored and never even attempt to charge.

Do you think yours might have taken an impact of any kind?

Not that it should make any difference but have you tried connecting the negative side to the BMS arm? I know it will not register on BMS but I will also try to connect directly to negative terminal to see if it makes any difference. Just as @Snakebitten said, you might also have a bad unit. Maybe try it on another car and see if the same holds.

Unlocking via the keypad still wakes the truck. I don't recall where it came from, but it has been posted before that any drop in battery voltage while charging causes the charger to go back to the first step in the charging algorithm. The only way to see the actual status is to keep the charger visible and do nothing with the truck. You either need to fund a way to have it outside the engine bay if the hood is down, or keep the hood up.

No impact that I’m aware of. It just sits under my rear seat in between uses.

Putting two and two together, I think the one common factor for when I had the charger showing green the next morning was that I had only partially latched my hood so it could be opened from outside and also not had my keys with me. The times I saw it red when partially latched I likely had my keys and woke the truck by proximity.

I will partial latch and no keys tonight and see what happens.

For the past few charge attempts I had begun running the ac power down beside the headlight which let me fully close the hood. Thought I was being clever but probably ended up making it much more likely to reset the charge because I’d definitely be opening the doors to get to the hood release.
