Noco Gen5x1 Permanent Install

Finally got around to doing this. Truck parked outside and fishing extension cord up from ground to maintainer was getting very old. Maintainer now velcro attachment to fuse box lid. GCP1E--6 foot extension power port plug attached to front bumper insert. Tried to attach to plastic valence between bumper and light, but not enough room.

Plug just inside the hood under the fender. I leave the hood open just resting on hood latch. I get a hood open message if I forget to unplug the Noco.

I got exactly these parts last week to do this. How hard was it to pull off the front panel?

The install looks well done albeit a bit of a visual distraction for us with OCD. Do you have issues with water intrusion, especially in the winter when salt is everywhere?

Insert pops out easily. Since I didn't have plastic trim tool, I wrapped a flat head screwdriver blade in electrical tape then gently pried from under side.

Only time will tell if water will penetrate system. Doubt will make a difference. Noco power cord is designed for wet conditions AND to alleviate my own OCD, I covered the cord in corrugated plastic split loom then wrapped that with the same heavy duty cloth electrical tape used by Ford.

Been thinking about something similar but looking at mounting my plug at the back of the truck in the same area as the trailer plug- back in parking at home and work.
