NO MORE CHIME!!!!! How disable (upon Carplay / Android Auto message)

I have struggled with this for over 4 years now and finally found the solution and so I will share with you all the fix.

Using Carplay or android auto whenever I would get a message I always got a very loud very obnoxious chime and no matter what I did I couldn't get rid of it.

Turns out that chime is part of the Fords Sync4 system.

So here's how to disable it.

Once your phone is connected, go to settings and then phone list.

Select your phone and disconnect from Carplay or Android Auto.

Go to phone settings.

Go to text messaging.

Select text messaging again and disable it.

You can now reconnect to Carplay or Android Auto and you will never again be startled by that God awful chime.

I’ve never heard this either, in my ‘21 or ‘24, weird. Must not be on by default.

The beauty of electronics. Didn't have them in the old days. Now we do in spades. Hundreds if not 1000's more things to go wrong as a result of all the additional parts/circuit boards. Beats the days of three on the tree, no power steering, and twin I-beam front ends.

I absolutely HATE it. I will try this the next time I get in my truck.

What I love is how Sync4 completely and utterly IGNORES when I have the ringer turned off on my phone when it connects to Corplay. The eardrum blasting volume it decides to play the phone ringer is sooooooooo much fun...




Sync even does this even with the new call screening functionality in iOS 26 and 8/10 connects Synce will do this prompting me to have to quickly end the call, then take the phone off silent and then put it back into silent.

I know it's Sync doing it and not a Carplay thing because it NEVER does this in my wife's Kia when using Carplay.
