I agree with you... From my own experience, the electric motor doesn't appear to have 221 ftlb of torque because it is nearly impossible to keep the truck in electric mode from a standing start..
I remember reading somewhere that the torque is just over a 100 ftlb..

As an aside, I have had the truck on electric only at over 70 mph for over half a mile!
I can easily get mine up to at least 25-30mph in electric only from a stand still. It's not fast, but it's doable.

You are totally right.. It can be done with an almost flat terrain and no one behind me! I just lose patience long before that! ?

The EV pids are in alignment with what the EV coach displays, for the most part. But if you are monitoring the PIDs you can clearly see that the EV coach isn't telling the whole story. Especially when the ICE is running, as well as the regenerative braking's influence in detail.

They could make some subtle changes to the EV coach graphics and it could be 100% reflective of what's going on and how you could better leverage your influence.
Agreed. I wish ev coach would show state of charge in percentage and current draw or regen in amps. I’ve been playing with the PID’s. When going up a hill I used to downshift to stay out of boost, now I downshift until my amperage is close to zero or negative. Attempt is to focus on always charging the battery when the engine is running. Just started this driving style so unsure if it will bring better fuel economy.

And while we are wishing, I wish the real water and transmission temperatures were displayed. :)

we’re currently in the month of October what do you mean??
Awe crap. 8 vs 10. I meant to type 10/24/22. Maybe it is wishful thinking. Just danm. At least my siganture has it correct. :)

I want you to have that really bad. You are towing so often and THAT is when those exact temps are telling a story.
If the Forscan gurus don't crack that 8" display for temps, you might consider caving in and fetching an OBDLink MX? :)

I did a 400+ mile, mostly Texas interstate speeds yesterday, and got a good idea from those EV pids why some folks are so disappointed with their mileage. :)

I was surprised to see that at 70 or above the Hybrid charging algorithm is basically non-Hybrid. Other than regenerative braking, the truck isn't interested in increasing the SOC. It cycles between "trickle charging" the HV battery to trickle discharging as an alternator role for the 12V system. I had assumed that at high speed cruising that the continuous ICE running would be topping off the SOC and then using the electric torque available for momentary torque request increases. But it appears that at those speeds on flat ground its a 3.5 Ecoboost period.
I'm not complaining really. Just surprised a little.
I think my real complaint is that it takes so much strategy off the table and I'm just a driver along for the ride. :)
I decided to just enjoy the music and act like I'm not such a nerd.

That explains my sub-optimal mileage going from California to Texas... it was mostly 70+MPH.

I'm seriously considering getting one now. Should it be with Forscan, Forscan Lite. or some other program? Remember I'm not Tech savvy.

One other thing. One with a wire, or a Blue Tooth one? Is Forscan free or do I have to purchase anything?

Depends what you want to do. If you're going to be doing software updates (vs simply diagnostics or configuration changes), get the Mongoose cable - it's the most reliable for software updates. It's not cheap though.
