New Chime control feature coming?

After my last update, and while wasting time in a line, I started poking around to see if anything new snuck in with the 6.8.0 update. I found something curious: a new section in vehicles settings called “Chimes” with nothing under it.

It would be nice to see a change. I have a 2013 King Ranch, and the chime is the same as the 2023s.

Another thing I found with the PPOB is that our current radial / dial graphs have been switched to bars. Areas in yellow are of note, value present doesn't mean that's what you're after, refer to forscan sheet, I've been marking it up with my own values / notes. Occupied fields are 24 plat PB. I haven't played with it yet to see what it looks like, I find it interesting that they've got it setup for 8 discrete power monitoring bars which so far indicates inverter legs. The lightning has 3 inverter legs from 2 inverters w/ PPOB optioned, it includes 2.4kW powering frunk and the 7.2 powering the bed. Simply a data point.

Are you saying the 2024 already comes with bars?

Yes, they've got some type of new bars as indicators vs dials. Haven't tested it yet. Been going over the 24's asbuilt data looking for new features. I'm assuming they're launching with the same sync version we're currently running. They've enabled all cameras at speed and whatnot from the factory.

@don.mullins there's an IPC chimes menu option with value of F in the 24's -- Not sure if current IPC now has 720-13 row in it.

You can check the APIM forscan section relating to chimes and compare your asbuilt to the 24's. Here's 24's APIM. Go to the APIM section of the forscan sheet and search "chime" to find all areas related to it.

I don’t have FORScan and have a completely stock truck. So this showed up on a ‘21 Platinum FX4 Powerboost that has no firmware modifications.

I also have the empty chimes option on my truck.

I swear it was there before, possibly from some Forscan changes but I could be wrong, and it could be brand new with the 6.8 update.

There will be a few items depending on options. My guess is it’s the information chimes setting in the APIM (Forscan)

Parking Slot Found(Plays an audible alert when the system detects a parking space)

Drive Mode Transition("Plays a sound when you switch to a different drive mode.") is only for vehicles that change drive modes via the touchscreen.

Information ("Plays a tone to inform you when there is a condition with your vehicle that may require your attention.")

This also showed up for me, not sure when but looking back through and comparing my Asbuilt data from when I first got the truck there is no specific changes around chimes so not sure if this is limited to ‘21s or not. My truck is also fully up to date with FDRS.

I have been able to make changes to the APIM that do get items to show up under that menu but they remain grayed out so I assume there are further changes that need to be done in other modules to fully enable having control over them through the APIM. Anyone wanting to explore this more I can send you the changes that I found, maybe you can help figure out the rest?
