Had my 2021 PB at dealer for some minor warranty work, and they found it needs a new control arm and tie rod (they said too much play). Only 50,000 km and pretty much a highway princess - no off roading (and bone stock).

Seems strange to me - has anyone else seen this?

lol that shit better be covered under warranty. I expect that part to last 150k miles minimum. In fact, I've never had to replace one.

Front upper left control arm, inner and outer tie rod ends - replaced under warranty. I do not offroad - 90% highway miles.

When doing this work, does Ford get paid to do an alignment?

The dealer charged me for it - service manager said it is mandatory (and should be done after suspension work like this) but charged me for the alignment.

i think the alignment would be covered if they took apart a suspension part and put on new
its in the procedure to CHECK the alignment ..
its in big letters

i know from pers exp. the front struts under warranty were recently replaced on my wifes edge and the 4 wheel alignment was part of the covered repair, i just paid the 100 deductible
those items worn out at 50k kilometers? must have some real bad roads :ROFLMAO:

great warranty covered it, but i would go back and say...hmmm pay me back for the alignment

My 23’ F150 has been solid so far but, my 2017 I replaced the first ball joint at 15k, second one around 30k and third one around 60k ?‍♂
All passenger side. Driver side was still original when I traded the truck with 90k. Always thought something wasn’t aligned from factory.

A bit more info here - took the truck to another dealer (to find and fix a cabin oil smell which is the original problem I am trying to resolve!) and they found the right control arm also had play in it. They also replaced it under warranty, but they did the alignment as part of the warranty work (ie no charge to me).

Sounds like I found myself a new dealer to with!

Potholes are bad up here this time of year but I am careful about this (it is a highway princess and no rough 4x4ing). Concerning that the truck needed both control arms replaced with only 50,000 km...

Funny , I am in the same city and was just told upper left was loose at 58000 KM's Warranty expired in April . I am wondering if it's the same dealership.
