If you add a NAV apim and a SXM acm with all the proper factory antennas and splitters; can you remove the TCU dtc? Is there a forscan change that keeps everything happy?
In theory yes, in practice maybe. I believe the newer versions of Forscan can write the TCU, but it may not take the updated configuration depending on the part number of the TCU. If you convert to nav, the TCU precise location isn't used for anything at that point since it's all routed through the APIM. Keeping the old antenna plugged in will solve that issue though.

I did read the first post, says you need a splitter but does the replacement right side antenna have both xm and gps nav antenna?

What about this blue connector off the new antenna? How did you resolve that? I ordered the antenna you mentioned.

In post #1 xlt22 gives one no cost way of dealing with it

In post #340 Rhineland gives another way of dealing with it

You do not need a splitter if your only concern is SiriusXM. Just use the linked extension. The new antenna serves as a secondary cell/GPS/Sirius antenna. To avoid the DTC issue, pull the old GPS antenna from the unit you remove (blue plug) and plug that back into the corresponding plug on the body harness of the truck. Make sure the antenna cell is pointing up and tape it down to the top of the headliner.

Reason I ask is because I keyed in the radio id on xm and nothing proceeded I’m assuming I’ll have to call like other posts and link to the car?

Yeap that ACM is good, yes you’ll need to call them or do the online chat.

Correct they have no record of that unit at all in their system. They must key it in manually. You should also get 3 months free service, mention you purchased a new ford.

Great I’m excited to give this a whirl. If I change forscan values before the acm module will it show Sirius or no because it won’t detect it?

If the ACM is plugged in to everything except the XM antenna and once you make the Forscan changes everything will show up you may get a check antenna error. I can’t remember but that may not happen till you register the radio Id.

Edit:
I checked in my post #73 if you make the needed changes and have no antenna installed you will get “antenna problem”

i had luck with the xm dealer app to get mine initially activated, have yet to call as im still on the trial period. im hoping that gets the radio id in the sirius system to make things a little easier when calling.

If you used the app you are good to go. I have now subscribed and I started the journey with activation in the app after my install.

Thanks for all the info here. I was able to get my XM up and activated. The only issue I have now is my volume display stays at 00 all the time. The volume will increase but the display doesn't change. I am thinking about resetting the forscan to the factory settings and then applying the changes again to see if that helps.

Just curious is the volume not appearing for Xm only or for every thing?
