Thought I’d post an update:

Last week the dealership replaced the Gateway Module. We let it sit overnight in the extreme cold to be able to test it the next morning.
Next morning i went bright and early, started it up, all was fine . I couldn’t believe it, 6.5 weeks and it’s finally fixed!

The fix lasted all of 20mins….check engine came on first, followed by a message anytime I went under 10 “Transmission Not In Park”. Also got -Hill start not available,Reverse brake assist not available.

I took it back to the dealer, they claim it’s a simple replacement of the Gear Shift Module…
So they replace it today, call me to say it’s ready to go to come pick it up….NOT even half an hour later get a call to never mind it’s all lit up again it’s not fixed.

7 weeks!!! No truck!
Ford Canada will not help in anyway, they just say “we will contact the dealer for you”. At this point I’m done with the truck…give me all my money back and keep the truck. If I trade it in I’m set to lose over $13k based on what they appraised it as trade…even more of a loss if I “sell” it to the dealer.

Unbelievably stressed out by all this!
Sorry to hear
I had lots of issues also. Traded mine off yesterday they gave me what I paid for a trade so I lost nothing. Truck is almost a year old.
To bad

Have you opened a case with Ford's customer experience team directly? 866-631-3788

They will monitor the case and be an advocate for your repair and have resources directly with Ford to get the repair done correctly.

In my experience, they are entirely and completely useless.

I’ve actually told the mechanic himself numerous times that guys on the forum say it may just be the battery and it’s almost as if he takes it as an insult…..like listen buddy, it’s been 7 weeks and you don’t know how to fix it, maybe listen to what I have to say ??‍♂

Yes I have an open case with Ford Canada and yes they are completely useless….

update: was told yesterday it was fixed again and can pick it up today…then told never mind again

Good afternoon. Would you please send over a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your local Ford dealer? I would like to look into this on my end.
At what point does Ford cut the loss and give me my monies back and keep the truck or send me a brand new 2022. This truck is clearly a lemon…8 weeks, no fix. Over $80k spent on a hunk of worthless metal…

Dealer offered me $70k for it…pretty insulting considering it has under 5000kms and they only reason I want to part with it is because FORD doesn’t know how to fix it….so I’ll have spent over $13k on a truck I only drove for about 6 weeks…

the truck is defective and a LEMON! Ford needs to do better for it’s customers. You’re Ford Canada rep doesn’t reply to emails and tells us “I’ll call the dealer for you” - wow great help you are !

Do you guys remember when Boeing had issues with the new 737 max, and they said there was a system called MCAS, but they didn’t explain it to the pilots because they didn’t want to “overwhelm” them? And then
Due to unfortunate events, planes fell out of the sky?

Ford developed a truck, with multiple “boxes” controlling multiple systems, and didn’t show techs at ford dealerships a damn thing about how to diagnose, duplicate, and resolve any issues. So now consumers are spending $60-85k on vehicle “duds”.

Boeing is now settling big payouts. Start taking notes. Hope your issues get resolved, but this is a massive cluster fuck of epic proportion and Ford will have to answer for it. My lawyer is on the forum, taking many MANY notes. I can’t fucking wait to make Ford accountable.

Never ever ever mention the word forum or internet to a service writer, manager, or mechanic.
They despise informed customers. :)

I'd love a go at that truck. First it would get a new battery. Called "process of elimination"
Then IF that didn't help, I'd hook up FDRS up and share the results with the gurus on this site. The truck is fixable. It's only a lemon because dealerships aren't ready or equipped/trained for these 2021+ Fords.

I had someone here look it up on FDRS for me and there was a span of 2 weeks the dealer didn’t even touch the truck…

It has a new Gateway Module, a new Gear Shift Module, a new 4x4 switch (replaced twice) and now apparently the Gateway Module is toast again…..

Just give me my money back…..even once it’s “fixed” I won’t feel comfortable driving it

I don't know how the dealership model works in Canada, but it's more likely the dealership didn't properly train their technicians for the new vehicles than Ford not showing them. Just based on what I heard when searching for my truck a year ago and other information posted, the training has been available for some time. Dealers probably are so over booked and understaffed that they aren't setting any time aside for training. It doesn't excuse your situation, but at least in the US, Ford wouldn't be too blame for uninformed technicians.

That sounds like a plausible approach considering the top down organizational relationship between Ford and dealership.

Manufacturer creates training material and makes it available to those that want to be paid for servicing the product. It's up to the technician to access the training materials.

Even as a private citizen with temporary access to FDRS help tools and Ford Service Manual, although it's an immense amount of information, the documentation and tools are available.

OP, call the media, big companies do not like bad publicity. I had some issue with my 21 but local dealer did fix some issues. Sad to see Ford is taking this long to resolve this issue.

A few people here mentioned a new battery. I’ve mentioned this to the mechanic who takes it as an insult that I’m questioning his work (even though 8 weeks in he still hasn’t fixed my truck)…WELL, a Ford Service Manager on here has private messaged me, ran my VIN and he also seems to think it’s the…BATTERY!
