Update:
Truck is now spitting out over 50 codes…..
They have ordered a new PowerTrain Control Module. Should arrive next week sometime.
Update:
PCM never arrived, back ordered and could be months…..
Going to contact Ford Canada to either speed up the process or buyback the truck.

That's the problem with all vehicles now. They are rolling computers. Going back to my old 1969 Mach l would be much more reliable. Zero chips/computers. Analog everything. I'm sure these backorder issues are industry wide.

Well Josh this is where you find out how well a company takes care of it's customers when things like this happen.

Any company can peddle products and services when there are no issues, it's how they respond to a situation like yours that tells volumes about the Character of a company. I hope your taken care of.
Our Platinum PowerBoost is up to 6600 miles trouble free.

Went in to see the truck Tuesday after they said it was fixed…nope, still not fixed. Mechanic came out and hooked up the computer, said an entire computer is not communicating and he will need to replace 3 modules and that should do the trick…my question to him was “what’s wrong with the current modules, how do I know the new modules will fix it? Truck has 4000kms on it…” he could not give me a real answer as to why the current modules do not work. I did say someone on this forum recommended a new battery and he said definitely not a battery issue ?‍♂.

I’ve been in contact with Ford Canada and they say nothing they can do.
The Dealership wants their loaner truck back also.
Ford Canada says not eligible for a rental.
So just shit out of luck.
Even if it does get fixed I now have no faith in the repair or the truck overall. Canada does not have a lemon law unfortunatel.

Hear me out - replace the battery. It is a common theme that a dud of a battery causes a cascade of error messages. All these modules not getting the proper voltage causes them to cut out. Tracks with your electronic accessories not working too. If you can, pull a known good battery out of another vehicle and drop it in, that way you can at least rule it out
Mechanic refused to do this after I mentioned someone on the forum suggested this. He was adamant it’s not a battery issue…yet he’s had the truck 4 weeks and can’t figure it out himself…I think I hurt his ego suggesting a fix.

Wasn’t a PCM they ordered. Was some sort of switch that did nothing to fix the issue.

Ugh. Bummer. No one likes to have this kind of experience, particularly not on a new vehicle costing this much.
Is there a consumer advocate you could contact? Someone in Govt or local media?

No lemon law in Canada unfortunately.

Truck only acts up in extreme cold conditions. Mechanic now says could be 6 modules. Ford Canada refuses to replace all 6 until the mechanic can pinpoint the EXACT issue using their methods…unbelievable! Ford Canada will not offer any compensation for this or even a buyback. If he can’t figure it out tomorrow then it’ll be too warm for the next 2 weeks to even look at it. Mechanic didn’t even look at it last week…!!! It was extremely cold today, BUT conveniently the ONLY mechanic that can work on my truck was “sick” today. I went by the dealer, started it up in the parking lot (where it’s been sitting) and the issue occurred…what a bunch of b.s! Only 1 mechanic in the whole dealership can plug a computer into my truck

I’m paying $$ for a supped up Lariat yet I’m stuck driving a fleet f150, yes, I’m happy to at least have a loaner but wtfffff!

42 days no truck

Holy crap dude that sucks. I can’t believe there’s no consumer protection for shit like that in Canada. Dealership should be doing all they can to make it right ?

Thought I’d post an update:

Last week the dealership replaced the Gateway Module. We let it sit overnight in the extreme cold to be able to test it the next morning.
Next morning i went bright and early, started it up, all was fine . I couldn’t believe it, 6.5 weeks and it’s finally fixed!

The fix lasted all of 20mins….check engine came on first, followed by a message anytime I went under 10 “Transmission Not In Park”. Also got -Hill start not available,Reverse brake assist not available.

I took it back to the dealer, they claim it’s a simple replacement of the Gear Shift Module…
So they replace it today, call me to say it’s ready to go to come pick it up….NOT even half an hour later get a call to never mind it’s all lit up again it’s not fixed.

7 weeks!!! No truck!
Ford Canada will not help in anyway, they just say “we will contact the dealer for you”. At this point I’m done with the truck…give me all my money back and keep the truck. If I trade it in I’m set to lose over $13k based on what they appraised it as trade…even more of a loss if I “sell” it to the dealer.

Unbelievably stressed out by all this!

F150 powerboost
I had similar issue with my 2021 Lariat powerboost. Back in October had a wrench pop up and the app said powertrain malfunction in the high voltage system.

Dealership said they fixed it but it would pop up every 1000km or so which worked out to about every month. I brought it back in December because winter was here and my cottage is in the bush a bit. They spent about 5-6 weeks before they could figure it out. Said it needed a new battery but was on backorder but I could drive it in the meantime. 2 days later -25 C and she wouldn't start. Dashboard lighting up like a Christmas tree. So I call and had to get it towed back after 5 days of no starting. Ford approved a rental thankfully. 5 days later the battery some how came into stock.

I put maybe 400 kms on it since I got it back but I don't need it in the week and have it parked at the in-laws because I can't park on street here in the winter. I did find it for sure rides better after the battery swap and no errors.

I'm in the Cambridge, ON area and used Northway Ford in Brantford. Not sure if any of this will help you but hopefully you can find a dealership that will actually put in effort. I called Ford Canada daily for about 2 hours a day in the 8 weeks. I felt like that helped because they even got a field technician to go in and they are the ones that said I needed the battery.

Good luck!
