I may have misinterpreted what he said about OHMS. I’m not an electrician but he was going on about these ohms and not enough to the Gateway Module blah blah blah. I told him I’m an average Joe, talk to me like a normal person I don’t know what you’re saying…
If he meant voltage and has yet to swap in a new battery for sh!tz and grins, I would try to get him replaced with another tech and/or put a battery in myself.

Is your sanity and drying up your wife's tears worth $200?

I tend to agree with @J44snk ...

Why not make a "deal" with the Service Manager...tell them you want to buy a new OEM battery out of your own pocket and have them install it. If it solves the issue(s) then they'll eat the cost of the battery. If not, you'll absorb the cost.

I realize you don't want to put any more money into this $70k+ non-working hunk of metal, but if you're convinced this is going to resolve the issue...
I did this after he refused to try another battery and I was told the batteries are on back order - essentially it seems the mechanics ego doesn’t want to try a new battery in case it does actually fix it

Was told the batteries are back ordered. That’s only after I suggested he swap the battery, then I said okay I’ll buy a battery then and was told “back ordered”

seems like excuse after excuse.

Why not just buy your own battery and do it yourself?

As for the Gateway Module (GWM), there is new software for it that was released OTA as part of Power-Up 2.4.1. He can download and install it immediately with FDRS or IDS. I updated mine last week manually and it was easy. Has he done that? The tech can replace and/or bitch about the GWM all he wants but if the software is out of date nothing gets fixed.

Not as easy as it used to be on a Powerboost. Have to be careful about the auxiliary battery and you have to have the right equipment to reset the battery monitoring system to do it right.

Stating the obvious here, but how does a module need "more ohms"? Resistance (measured in ohms) should be a known value at all measurement points within the tolerances of the component.

Tech needs a snickers bar and a couple more classes...
If you can't baffle them with knowledge, baffle them with BULL SHIT... NEEDS MORE OHMS...ADD A RESISTOR.

I would call another dealer and ask do they have a battery for my truck and how much to get it installed. Get it done, even if you pick one up from an auto store.

(y) Sometimes the following applies (saw this when I was at the local BMV getting plates for my 2021 F-150).

No lemon law here.
I was told to not mention a lawyer to Ford Canada cause they will stop accepting calls/emails and forward it all to their legal team and await our “lawsuit”
You are correct - I've learned the hard way that there are certain terms that will bring any dialog with dealers/customer support to a screeching halt. My experience dealing with Ford's "support" team here in the lower 48 has been excruciating, although my XLT's issues are nowhere near as critical as OP's.

In the last several months of fruitless attempts at establishing ANY meaningful conversation with Ford, I've learned to treat phrases like "lemon law", "lawyer", "litigation", "buyback", etc. akin to saying "bomb" in an airport... just don't. It's amazing how Ford's reps will dedicate hours to feeding me meaningless, circular red tape, but will immediately shift gears the instant you utter anything indicative of legal action.

My experience with my truck has been frustrating & disappointing, but it's the insulting and condescending behavior of Ford's "support" reps that have all but guaranteed that this will be the last Ford I ever own.

Just a quick question, when you say "change the battery" are you being clear that your'e talking about the 12v battery and not just the Hybrid battery? Maybe the tech is just being obtuse?

Mine had a bunch of errors pop up and wouldn’t start. Dealer found a broken wire in the harness connecting to the body control module. Sounds like it got pinched somehow and worked it’s way apart.

OP,

I understand your frustration. I think you're past the nuclear option now.

As far as I can tell, you have two options:

Option 1:
Hire a flatbed driver, have him meet you at the dealer, and tell the dealership that you are taking your truck back. I would then promptly have it towed to another dealer.

You should also make sure you're in contact with that other dealer and get a commitment from the service manager to be onboard with you.

Option 2:
If you don't want to go through all of that, then it's time to bite the bullet and hire a lawyer. I know there's no Canadian lemon laws, but there are still legal avenues for you to pursue. Even if this "freezes" the communications from them directly, look at it this way....they are not really communicating with you. They are gaslighting you. They can't do that to a lawyer.
