I guess the used vehicle market isn't that great in Canada then. I checked my truck on KBB a few weeks after buying it, and again a couple weeks ago, and it was still estimated at sticker price for a trade in, which is about what I paid after taxes/tags/etc.

I’m in a similar situation and I’m not only in the US but I’M in Cali!

We have BRUTAL “Lemon Laws” but… I NEED the 122’ wheel base of the Regular Cab Short Bed and there’s only 1 option. FORD!

I ordered my tuck on March 20th 2020. Got my VIN after 3 weeks and a build date of June 7th.

That “build date” was rescheduled SEVEN TIMES over 8 months. They finally built my truck in late November and delivered it November 29th.

I drove it for FOUR weeks when it shattered a valve on December 29th.

It’s been parked at the Ford Dealership ever since “waiting parts”.

I am now on my THIRD (of ?) “promised” ship date for my new head with no end in sight and paying Ford Motor Credit payments AND INSURANCE every month for a truck I can’t drive.

“LEMON LAW":

Yeah, sure… I could get a lawyer and force Ford to buy back my truck BUT THEN WHAT?

Wait another EIGHT MONTHS and several more “promised” build dates for a 2022?

I can’t buy a GM, Mopar, Toyota, Nissan, etc… THEY DON’T SELL Regular Cab Short Beds.

And this asshole that posts as Ford Motor Company “Official Ford Account” can suck my sparkplugs! (I HOPE THE DICK IS READING THIS POST!) If you are… you should be ashamed to work for such a horror show of a “company”! They must be paying you a fortune to look at yourself in the mirror every morning.

It’s a shame. The 2021 Ford F150 is an amazing piece of modern technology. Ford engineers are GODS!

Ford Motor Company is a worthless POS and I hope these fcukers go bankrupt without a government bailout.
what is this “Lemon Law” you speak of. I’m in California and currently awaiting delivery for my PB. Hoping I don’t need to go through this.

Here is a link to the Lemon Law in Cali. It basically protects the consumer in the case of a new vehicle turning out to be...well a lemon. It has to meet very specific criteria to qualify though.

There is a lawyer in Michigan who specializes in Lemon Law. He has been on the VinWiki youtube channel a few times and always has interesting stories about going to court in these cases. His name is Steve Lehto if you want to look him up.

Im in Canada and the market is super hot.

He is factoring in his payments which really you cant because they equate to payment for usage.

That dealer is also low on his truck.

A less than kyear old truck with low miles can easily fetch just below MSRP.

The fact theyre desking him at 71 is a joke that shows the dealers mentality.

Monthly Payments for use aside, I did have a hefty down payment to start. $71 for a $79k truck with 4000kms on it….it also has the Ford Hard tonneau and extended warranty which should add value to the truck over the $79k sticker.

Also, the dealer won’t it as a trade till it’s fixed…so I’m paying for this truck and losing value daily

I get that,

But if youre getting desked at 71k for your trade, that is 74550 with the tax benefit. so now youre at a -4450 equity. which is not terrible. The dealer should be more than willing to give you that off a new truck a voila youre there.

If not get a UFA membership and have them give you xplan and once again. voila youre there.

So many ways to get you out of that truck into a new one.

I mean it is terrible considering I bought a brand new vehicle and must lose money on it due to Fords incompetence. It’s easy to say these things when you’re not in the same situation

6-9 month wait to order a new truck. There are no SuperCrew 6.5ft Lariats on any lots in Ontario

Extended warranties don't add value. You should get back a substantial amount of what you paid for it when the truck is sold and you cancel it.

From what I've read x-plan requires you to prove membership for 3 months. I got EAA to get x-pland and i'm hoping I don't get called out on it by my dealship, but it does say in the x-plan instructions to provide proof you have been a member for 3 months of the qualifying organization.

This is just plain incorrect.

I worked for Ford for years,

Certain clubs do require three months yes.

But UFA is one you can become a full eligible member the day you buy your membership.

Youre also in the US and we are in Canada. Not the same.

I totally understand man,

By no means am I implying its not a shit situation and a terrible place to be.

That said you have options,

If all it takes is money to get out of a bad spot, spend it and get out.

The inventory issue is another story not quite as easily solved.

Gotcha. I was just going off what the X-plan instructions said (not from EAA). Might be different than Canada, you are correct.

I was able to get the x-plan pin wihtout issues the day I paid for it, but the x-plan pin confirmation said this:

" Provide proof of organization membership (Customer must be a member of the eligible organization for a minimum of 90 days prior to the sale date of the vehicle)"

This may be linked EAA, but I assumed it was an x-plan thing. Sorry for the confusion.

It's very, VERY unlikely that you will. Ford is shipping THOUSANDS of trucks every day (when they’re open) and the vast majority of them are trouble free.

All I can say is baby your new F150 for the 1st couple thousand miles… AND THEN DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT!

Flush out any issues while it’s till under warranty and if you even suspect the slightest hick-up… Take it in and get it DOCUMENTED!

Even if they “don’t find anything”. You’ll have documented evidence that there WAS a “problem” before the warranty expired.
