Reading these posts is exactly why I was specifically looking for a Lariat without a moonroof - every vehicle I have owned with a moonroof, it has leaked. Seems some things never change; I'm curious what the remedy turns out to be - if anything.

Purchased 2024 F-150 Lariat 502A less than a month ago and water leaks through upper RH (passenger side) B&O speaker just like original post when I take it through car wash. Took it straight to Ford Service Dept. and he told me “yeah, your owner’s manual tells you to not take the truck through those high pressure car washes. If it does it when it rains, come back and see me.” I couldn’t find any such caution or warning in the owner’s manual myself (if it’s there, please tell me where). I’ve checked the moonroof drain and it’s clear and should drain just fine…yet it leaked again next time through car wash. Should I put silicone on the top side of the rivets in the moonroof slide tray?

The lines are most likely pinched in the A pillar which causes them to get overwhelmed.

Mine drain fine when I pour a glass of water in there to test but anytime we have sustained rain it leaks.

One of my projects is to pull the whole thing apart.

That's complete crap. I had the same issue, my dealer fixed it and I haven't had another problem.

How did they fix it? I took my truck back in yesterday for the 6th time. The last time I took it in they said they found the leak and fixed it brought the truck back home rained the next day and both speakers had water coming out of them. My dealership hasn’t been much help to me.

Well this has been happening to me regularly lately. I park on flat driveway and last night parked on a fairly steep driveway tail high and it still happened. So im not sure truck orientation is a major factor.

Last night we got a ton of rain and my headliner is soaked.

Im curious about the vent/air dam now. I just don't see how water is getting over to the dry side, but that seems to be the most likely culprit.
Hello. Are you still experiencing this concern with your moonroof leak? If so, I would like to look into it on my end. Please send over a private message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer.

Update on my moonroof leaking through upper right B&O speaker:

I took it back to the dealership where I bought the truck (not my closest dealer) and they immediately found the leak. It was the main seal (seal around the front moonroof on twin panel moonroof) and didn't have anything to do with the rivets on the track or a blocked drain tube. Basically, the main seal on my new truck was bad (or installed incorrectly from factory) and was allowing more water in than the drain tubes could effectively drain, causing water to back up enough to drain through the upper RH B&O speaker. They ordered a new seal, replaced it the next day and now the issue is resolved. I'm still waiting on my replacement headliner to come in (warranty replacement due to water stain that they couldn't completely clean via their detail shop) but the water leak is resolved.

For those with trucks no longer under warranty, there are videos out there demonstrating how to remove the moonroof and replace that seal. It appears to be relatively easy to do and realign back in place. Recommend checking them out and considering if you're still having this issue with your truck.

A couple weeks ago I traded in my 23' Lariat with approximately 13,000 miles. In my situation this was one of the main reasons I decided to trade it in. Unfortunately that was one of about 8 issues. Many not resolved.

Dealership tore my truck apart twice. In the process the interior was never the same. I could see damaged plastic and found screws on the floor. If that wasn't bad enough they wouldn't replace the speakers in the roof. Witnessing for themselves that water was pouring out of them. They said "I didnt say there was an issue with the speaker!?" Or better....don't use a car wash.

I tried to have a sense a humor. Being a big Ford fan saying things like "I was bound to get a bad one". Called the moon roof a " water feature". But the reality is so much water had gotten into my truck I was worried about future issues. Even a couple electrical issues.

I used to be worried about if it was going to rain. I am meticulous with my vehicles. I knew getting a sunroof there was a risk. I constantly checked to make sure the drains were working. Would open an make sure everything was clean. A guy at work had a 16' and 21'. Both leaked and even tried to warn me. The engineers obviously need to go back to the drawing board.

The reality is these are expensive vehicles. This was unacceptable. After 11 months of ownership I hated the vehicle. So much so I brought a check for the negative equity.

I was able to see my truck when it was torn apart. There was no way that was going back together right....and twice. To me it wasn't worth the payment.

I got my truck back about a week ago and last night it finally rained. Go out and check it this morning and no water anywhere. They changed the seal on the moonroof like the guy said above. This seems to be the fix for now I just hope it hold up but at least this fixes the issue I was having and hope it helps everyone else with the same issue of water coming down through the speakers.

My 2024 Platinum has the exact same problem--unfortunately they have changed and replaced the seal along with glass and the rain keeps coming. The B&O Speaker makes for a great $80,000 showerhead-- No. 1 selling showers for 47 years straight!!

Hi there! I can look into your F-150's concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your F-150’s VIN?

They initially replaced sunroof seal and then replaced the sunroof glass--but it still leaked. They then "removed and replaced the sunroof frame and replaced the drain tray" which appears to have done the trick.
