I purchased a 2022 F-150 Platinum a little over a year ago first six months no leaks one day I go outside and my passenger seat is soaking wet. So I take it to the dealer I purchased it from and they can’t find a leak. Couple days later it rains again and leaks like crazy. I’ve taken it back to the dealership 3 times total and the same thing. Then the guy tells me moon roofs are supposed to leak. Is there anything I can do to stop it from leaking all over my passenger seat? I’m tired of riding around with a 5 gallon bucket to catch the water.

Have you checked your drain lines? Now that you have pics of it happening they need to move on it. @Ford Motor Company needs to rectify this.

yes the drain tubes are fine I’ve checked those. It seems to be coming in through where the air deflector is at on the rail on the moonroof.

My 22 Limited just did the same on the driver's side for the first time. It's been in the shop since yesterday for it's 3'rd Cat converter and the leak. They will either blow it out with air or snake it with weed trimmer line.

Good morning. Would you please send over a private message with your VIN and dealer info so I can look into this moonroof leak concern?

Yup...not supposed to do that..something is causing water to not reach the drains.
Could be "dtuff" blocking the flow..
Have you stuck a light in the through the roof opening with it open to see.
No excuse for service guys not figuring it out

............... "Then the guy tells me moon roofs are supposed to leak" WTF? Change dealer, or at least go see the dealer principle. That is UNACCEPTABLE! Worked at Ford dealers for 20+ years and we employed a leak specialist "the Water Doctor" who resolved 99% of (mostly) sunroof leaks. I owned a 21 Lariat 502A and have a 22 Tremor 402A (both with B&O unleashed) and neither had/have water leaks. Pursue through Ford CR if you have to.

Welcome to the club, there needs to be recall on this.

How can we as the consumer help initiate this?

This was the most alarming thing to me. "Moonroofs are supposed to leak" is the most idiotic thing I've ever heard a service advisor say, across any make of vehicle.

Glad Ford chimed in here and can hopefully get some movement on this.

Yup...not the correct answer
They do allow water around the dust seal as designed. Then channel to the fwd and aft drains

Spiders tend to block them where they exit.
As does mud
But water sloshing or blocked from getting to drains is fixable

Maybe 'drain' is what they should've said. Unfortunately the water through the speaker is posted all too often. While this is not my issue, every time it rains I walk into a moldy, smelly truck...

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but its raining like hell today and think I found my issue. In the spirit of sharing, the pop-up wind deflector (fabric) is getting totally saturated. I'd rather remove it for more noise than mold and mildew. Maybe capillary action pulling water over the gutter and into the headliner.

The air deflector. Should.. I say should ...
Drain onto the pan area that channels to drain.
If it gets folded weird or kinked it could drip on the "dry" side
Interesting video.
Another often overlooked issue is truck
Orientation to level. If it is a condition of nose high or tail high. Like on a steep driveway, I csn see torrential rain causing issues. We got 1.34 yesterday in less than 30 minutes..it actually cleaned my truck better than the car wash.. I was driving at 65 as well for at least half that event
No leaks

The speaker is in the dry zone.. ?
Great find
Service techs should not just say. Yep they leak.
Wrong answer

I don't have much to add. My 22' - 402a tremor leaks from the same spot in the same way after a rain storm. I park with my truck nose up/high on my sloped driveway fwiw.

I took my truck to the dealer around the corner from my house one morning when it was leaking through the speaker grille so that they could see it and document it. I had it in for service looking for this issue and they were not able to replicate it. I don't have any smart ideas on how to remedy this. My guess is that it's related to the sunroof drains being overwhelmed or water being trapped where it shouldn't be after the drains are overwhelmed. Since the dealer wasn't able to replicate it... I'm guessing this is less of a problem on flat ground then nose up or nose down conditions.

I've had my truck in the dealer twice for this already... Interesting to see it's more wide spread than it would seem.

Well this has been happening to me regularly lately. I park on flat driveway and last night parked on a fairly steep driveway tail high and it still happened. So im not sure truck orientation is a major factor.

Last night we got a ton of rain and my headliner is soaked.

Im curious about the vent/air dam now. I just don't see how water is getting over to the dry side, but that seems to be the most likely culprit.
