Lets talk offline. Maybe I can make a donation. It would be cool to have for myself but I wouldnt get my money out of it like you would. Youve been a great contributor to myself and others with your scans. Maybe others can chip in also. What is ot, $900 annually?
A few people have offered to contribute, but I really haven't put any effort into doing anything about it. Yea, it's $900, but I would never ask the community for anything. I refuse to pay $1000 to Ford to help Ford fix their problems. :ROFLMAO:

o this is NOT normal. Im about to tick
Im sorry maybe my post wasnt clear. I will edit. But no this is NOT normal. Im about to tick 50,000 miles and this JUST started heppening, hence my post.

I do understand that MTE, DTE changes based on how you drive, but this is a dramatic change. I said this has happened twice. The first time I filled up my truck, it read 617 MTE and directly drove our son to college, 2hrs south, about 100 miles, drove all over town, took him to lunch before we headed back home, drove another 100 miles and when I parked my car in my driveway its said 603 MTE. So I drove roughly 300 miles and my MTE dropped 14 miles.

Doing other Google searches and even this forum it does look like others are having the same issue, there just does not seem to be a fix or resolve yet. I dont care and ignore half of the "big brother" crap on my dash, but I need to trust I wont run out of gas when my truck says I have 300 MTE.

@Tone, sorry... no...
You post a question (is this normal?), people answer you (yes, it is/can be), then you immediately tell everyone they are wrong because you know it to be wrong ("But no this is not normal").

What is the point of posting if you're already an expert on the subject?

Yes, it is normal behavior. Been seeing it happen in my trucks for many, many years.

This appears to be just another "feature" that Ford can't make work properly, so there is no fix for it. In my opinion, Ford would be better-off building trucks with features that they know work. I am still waiting on yet another recall that they don't have the parts or the know-how to fix. Perhaps if they also sourced parts from known and tested manufacturers, their recalls and complaints would drop off considerably.
There's nothing wrong it it. It's based on how you drive before and after filling up.

I am still irritated with Ford and my 2022 F-150. I will likely never buy another Ford product.
This isn't the airport, so there's no need to announce your departure.

Best of luck.

So no one is entitled to an opinion that doesn't agree with yours? Is that what you're saying?
I'm not sure if that question was posed to me or someone else, but if it was posed to me it's not an opinion.
I have owned the truck for over 3 years now, logged 50k miles on it and only recently has the DTE gauge acted the way it has. This is completely new and nothing like what I am used to in regards to this truck.
I'm 55 years old, this is my third f-150, have had other SUVs and am very famliar with how DTE gauges report estimated miles to empty, based on differing driving conditions.
If my truck is filled up and says 617 MTE and I drive my truck 250 MI and it then tells me I have 603 MTE left before I run out of gas there is something severely wrong with my DTE gauge. Even with minor adjustments of hammering the gas or towing a large boat or climbing up large hills or whatever I should not drive 250 miles and my truck report back to me that I have a full tank of gas and adjusy fotb13 miles.

If you have FORScan, and you'd like me to, send me a fresh backup of your IPC. Add .txt to the end of the file name and message it to me; I'll be looking to see if the standard configuration re DTE has changed in your truck.

Update:
Drove 74 miles today, all flat terrain. Not even any hills. I started at 402 MTE, when I parked I had a net gain of +69 miles on my DTE and more telling, is my truck still says I have a full tank after filling it up on Saturday and making multiple trips around town and to clients since then.
That is my problem. I can no longer tell when I am running out of gas and need to fill it up. Again, this just started happening a couple weeks ago. This is not "normal".

You're entitled to your own opinions, but opinions are not the same as facts.

DTE has *always* jumped around based on driving habits before and after refilling. Mine has done that for YEARS, and plenty of my previous F150s have done the same thing.

That's not to say the OP doesn't have a problem - his last pic showed his gas gauge showing FULL even after driving ~70 miles. I would not consider that just a DTE issue.

Did you ever resolve this or is it still an issue? I have the same issue, though mine doesn't continue to add miles. I had a fuel neck replaced for leaking and they ran the recall for the backup camera and other software updates at the same time. My fuel gauge takes about 90 miles to ever say less than 100% and I filled 23 gallons into a 26 gallon tank when the gauge still showed 1/4 full. Previously I never put in more than 22ish gallons after the 25 mile warning happened.
