Has anyone had an issue with the sun visors on both Driver and Passenger side being loose? Just bought a 2023 Lariat and when swinging the driver visor out to block the sun coming in the driver window, the visor is sloppy loose. Checked the passenger side and same thing. Tried tightening the screw and no joy. $72K vehicle and it appears that Ford cheeped out on the one thing that I use every single time I drive. There is no way that someone installed these things and didn't notice. Super Pissed right now. I had a 21 XLT and didn't have this problem.

Googled as I just noticed this on my 2023 XLT. Both sides.
Hoping I can just tighten something…

Yep, but my driver side was way looser than what yours is doing. My passenger side was not "as" loose.
I took the truck to the dealer and they tried to fix it after they tried blaming me and then told me that it was normal (the truck had less than 200 miles on it). When I was about to leave the sun visor fell out of the mount with the clip. I was pissed to say the least. The Service Manager came out to look and I questioned him as to how this could be normal and he just shook his head. He then said that he would investigate and give me a call. They may have to drop the headliner. Well 3 months later and not a word back.

This is definitely a manufacturer defect. I pulled down both the sun visors, wrapped them in electrical tape and added plastic shims between the roof and headliner. The Driver side is tight but the passenger side is still loose.

Pull down the headliner?? Boy, I'm not sure I'd do that.

I'll have to investigate further or ask dealer sometime.

Little surprised I haven't seen more discussions on this anywhere. Being that it is both sides its not something I'd think was just a 1-2 trucks.

So, I got a call that parts came in for the Sun Visors. I was pretty hopeful. They replaced the fastener clips and screws. They are still loose. I was told that it's as fixed as it's going to be. There is nothing else that they can do.

I was talking to one of the service reps when I brought the truck in and was talking about the issue. He has a 23 150. When I asked him if his was loose, he first said no, and then went out to his truck and confirmed that they were in fact loose. I just laughed.

I will try some of my own fixes to see if I can tighten them up.

My 23 Raptor is loose also. My two other buddies one with a 23 raptor and one with a 21 raptor both are loose.

I just "fixed" mine. I was about to just live with the loose sun visors but my driver side fell out again. Serious safety issue (if I had been driving). Though that said, with the screw retainer now out, I was able to bend out the retaining clips. I was able to pop the screw retainer back in and that seems a bit more secure. Though when I remounted the visor it was obviously still bouncy loose. I again removed the visor and used some cut up toilet bowl shims (yes, that is funny and I cracked up when I thought about it, while I said, "What a piece of Crap"). I inserted the "crapper" shims behind the headliner at each side (4 total). The idea is to sandwich the headliner between the visor and mounting point. I reinstalled the visor and now it's tight. Doesn't move and doesn't bounce. The passenger side, although loose, wasn't wobbly, but I fixed that one too. This time with wooden shims (about 1/8" thick). Took about 10 minutes total to fix both side. I can't imaging ford is going to fix this but hope this helps until they do.

Same problem, bouncing, feel cheap and the annoyance for me is they rattle. Not impressed.

I'd wedged some rubber from an inner tube in the passenger one a couple of months ago and it helped a little. Looking for a more substantial solution. Thanks for the above posts.

I took the plastic part out and wedged pieces of rubber in and around it when reinstalling. I have not test driven but it is certainly more rigid than it was before. Two fasteners would be an easy fix on Fords part. Pathetic.

I appreciate this thread. Thought I was losing my mind with those dang loose visors.

Well I test drove the truck with mods made as described above and thankfully they are working (so far). I didn't notice any rattles or bouncing but it was a short drive to the local Ford dealer where the truck was going in for a possible vibration.

How do you pop the visors out of the headliner? Just use a pry tool or something else necessary to push in some tabs?
