Does anyone have a fairly easy method of locating just the connectors and terminals for building your own wiring harnesses? I know mouser.com and digikey.com both sell the parts, but trying to locate a specific connector or a terminal that fits that connector is a pain? I can't believe how much Ford wants to charge for a pigtail for some of these mods when the parts themselves aren't that expensive. An example would be the intrusion sensor connector. That is listed as a WPT-1493 by Ford, but they want $60 for a four wire pigtail with connector and heat shrink tube and four butt connectors. I know the connector itself can't be but a couple of dollars and if you buy the terminals in quantities of 25 to 50, they are just pennies apiece. Anyone who does wiring work in automotive has heat shrink tubing and butt connectors or can buy it cheap enough. I'm looking for a simple method (if it's possible to do) to find the connectors and the terminals to fit. Any help would be appreciated. Love the collective wisdom from this group. I've completed several mods to my 2024 XLT since I bought it in Feb and have a few more I'd like to do but the cost of the harness is outrageous!!!!

Doesn't seem to be an easy way.
I usually look at the connector for part number, mfgr. name on it.
Then look thru older Molex, TE catalogs since they are common in Fords.

The WPT-1493 F150 Intrusion Sensor search leads to TE Connectivity MQS housing:

TE Connectivity has a ton of different connectors sealed and unsealed: GET 64, Gen Y, MCON, MQS, Multilock, etc.

Hey Tired Lizard,

Really appreciate the info. That will help with that connector and terminals, but I was speaking overall. I have tried to locate others as well and the number of connectors and terminals is mind boggling. I guess I will just keep digging and see if I can find more info on other connectors and terminals. I know some of the guys spend a lot of time doing this digging and I was wondering if there were any easier methods to finding the info.

I had done a similar project a couple years ago on my 2004 I have. I added 2009 plus style mirrors and did an OEM quality job adding in a wiring harness I made but I did use those WPT pigtails. Didn't want to hack any of my original wiring that I've never hacked before haha. Not into cutting up OEM stuff and avoid it like the plague.

I've done some other work on my truck as well since connectors are getting brittle and had found some on eBay since they were used in various applications. Someone told me after the fact they used this website for success for the times they've had a similar approach to using factory connectors and or making harnesses.

Most people who know won’t tell you part numbers specially if they’re making money off of them. Best think to do is looking at the connectors and see if there are part numbers printed on them. The you can do more research and find mating connectors and pin part numbers
