So, I ordered a MY23 Lariat at my local dealer back on Oct 19. Since I fully expected to wait 6 months or more I didn’t really do a lot of research for where to order or options that might gum up my wait time (shame on me). Only after placing my order did I find this wonderful forum that was a wealth of knowledge, I clearly never had heard of Granger Ford before. After 5 months of waiting with zero contact from my dealer and being ghosted for multiple weeks after reaching out via email, phone and text - as much as it pained me, I decided to go ahead and cancel my order last week. I just couldn’t take another 45 day “we have your order, but no status yet” email. After reading through the posts on this forum and getting a better understanding of how Ford fulfills orders - partially based on dealership allocation, I decided to get a refund for my deposit and place an order for the exact same truck with Granger Ford. While I was hoping and expecting the move would in fact get me my truck earlier, I was still torn after having already waited 5 months from initially placing my order at my local dealer. The emotional pain of being put at the back of the order line quickly subsided when I received my build quote from Granger for 3% under invoice (I was planning on paying MSRP). Between that and the much lower dealership fees, I was saving nearly $10k from my initial expected truck cost! I could wait another 6-9 months for $10k - with the cost savings alone, I knew that I had made the right decision switching my order to Granger. Fast forward 1 week (to the day) later and I get an email today with a VIN and a scheduled production week of 4/24 - I couldn’t believe it!

I know that there is still a long way to go, but I am stoked to actually see light at the end of the tunnel for when I may get my retirement truck! With all that said, I’d just like to thank this group for all the amazing information that gets posted here - if not for this forum, I am sure that I would still be in F-150 order purgatory.

As a happy Granger customer, I can echo your thanks. I accidently discovered this forum, and I easily saved $7K over the best deal around me, and a lot more when comparing to other dealers near me that still are asking over MSRP for Tremors (which I got).

The entire buying experience with Granger was awesome...that and the $7K savings, made it worth the fly out (cheap SWA ticket) and drive back (about 5 hours).

That said, a word of caution on the Ford end of things. I had a build week of 11/23/2022, and then a "Built" date of 11/30/2022, but picked my truck up from Granger on 2/24/2023. Ford is still having a tough time getting some (not all) trucks out of Dearborn, and to their final destination. Mine was in Dearborn for a good bit, and then in Kansas for a good bit.

Best of luck. I think you will love your new truck when you get it.

Of course I can't guess what might have come to past if you'd stuck with your original order / dealer (It might show-up exactly as ordered in the next week!), but I can attest to being among the legion of folks who are supremely happy about my Granger Ford buying experience.

They've got no magic control over the Ford Corporate end of things, but IME Granger is certainly stellar when it comes to all of the dealer-side things which are within their control.

Wishing you a happy conclusion to your F150 buying experience!

Congrats and welcome to the 4/24 build week group! I just got my email from Ford today as well after recently placing an order with a super-responsive local dealer in NC. I started a thread for those of us scheduled on 4/24.

The question everyone wants to know is..........................what color did you choose!

Anyway, I'm sure you would have eventually ended up with the truck you wanted, but sometimes the buying experience can leave a really bad taste in your mouth and even make you not enjoy your new truck as much. Glad you found this forum and switched your order. I have read nothing but good things about Granger so you're in good hands. Congrats on your new truck.

I just picked my truck up from Granger last weekend, I cannot speak highly enough of them. We drove 1200 miles/17 hours home for it and it was totally worth it. They made the entire process so simple, we were only at the dealership for 5 minutes Friday morning and then out the door with the keys headed home. Granger is incredibly proactive in communication and then beyond patient in providing order updates all along the way whenever I requested (shoutout to Samantha!).

Agate black. Simple, but it’s always been my
favorite truck color.

Another big fan of Granger here. While I waited 11 months from order to pick up I saved huge dollars.

With incentives at the time of order, price protection from the order date so I paid none of the increases, and Grangers 3% under invoice I ended up paying $59,800 on a truck with an MSRP of $73k. Driving this F-150 is a dream.

Good luck with your order.

Also go into your account and look for the Signature section. Type in your truck details and order details and then it is easy for everyone to see what you are rocking. Keep us posted.

I ended up ordering via Granger when my local dealer refused to offer price protection. And I feel Granger will be better than X-Plan as some Ford offers can't be used with X-Plan.

The only thing that gives me any kind of pause of doing the title paperwork here in Florida.

not to be negative or anything, but don’t forget you’re paying the new MSRP the moment you abandoned your first truck order.
