I have limited experience on this topic but can tell you that I test drove a used '21 Powerboost and it was shockingly clunky on the shifts at somewhere around 10-25 mph, both accelerating and deaccelerating.

Never-the-less I bought a different used '21 sight unseen and it shifts nothing like that 1st one I demoed as it's smooth as can be. I couldn't see wanting anything to be different in that regard.
I believe the clunky shifts are a non-issue. Get the TSB done and/or reset adaptive trans table. Someone please correct me if I'm out in left field on this one!

Just ordered my livernois tune for my 21 powerboost.
Does anybody know if they released e30 tunes yet? I messaged them but haven't got a reply yet.

Yes they had them since may/june.

they have a version 8 e30 now tho. I’ll try when I go to the strip
Does the tune do anything with the Hybrid system? Better utilization of the battery pack or something?

What are the warranty concerns? Can Ford see the tune? Anyone break a motor of transmission?

When I travel to the mountains and high grade fuel is unavailable, should I be loading in a different tune?

Any other tunes that should be considered?

Does Livernois typically offer annual sales or anything

Thanks.
yes they did some work on the EV side.
Again suttle

The tow tune is 87-93octane so it’s your set and forget it.

I use the 91-93 performance but don’t tow anything and run 93. I’m going on a trip soon but given the 700+ range I am betting on finding 91+, so planning on leaving it and not doing the tow tune. I’m on the fence tho.

I never tried the tow tune

If you have an E30 tune what happens if your ratio gets way off? Like you are traveling and don't have E-85 available for your mix?

PS. I had a flex fuel Corvette and it was great and E-85 is available just down the street. But the flex part made it where I could just go back and forth as needed.

Yeah it’s not flex fuel.

you have to mix premium and e85 to e30. It’s annoying, so I gave upon that, except for the strip.

the fuel system apparently won’t support volume for e85.

from what I hear, you can do e30 +-10

So on the Livernois website for the '23 Poweboost, there's this note. Can anyone running a '23 Powerboost Tune elaborate on what this entails?:

That's great news. I know running E-30 was night and day difference than the 91 performance tune on my last truck. It was honestly a full second quicker in the quarter mile.

If that’s remotely true on this truck then it’s easy high 11s

Seriously considering pulling the trigger on the Livernois setup, but haven't been able to find answers to a couple of questions.

1: Tunes are available for octane/tow or octane/performance. I understand the octane part, but what is the difference between tow and performance? Any insight into what is really taking place? Their video claims roughly 100 gain in hp/torque, but I don't think they stated what tune they were using. My guess is the 93/performace. If that is the case, what to lesser tunes (or tow) get you?

2: The ECU can hold only one tune, but what happens when you switch between drive modes (Eco, Sport, Normal, Tow, etc)? Does the Livernois tune affect all modes? Does Eco still drive like Eco? Sport still drive like Sport? Tow? Normal?

Drive modes are 99% shifting strategy and throttle tip-in.

Nothing to do with the combustion chamber management

Thanks. That answers #2. Hopefully someone can weigh in on #1.

My hopes are that the tow tune gives you more hp/torque lower in the rev range, at the sacrifice of more in the upper rev range. I think I'd rather have that setup for daily driving.

Just a guess. May have to fire off an email to Livernois to see what they say.

The tow tune won’t make more power anywhere compared to the performance tune. With this engine control unit there’s no high vs low end trade off.

Tow tune will have all the protections and derate stuff turned up similar to stock.
