Lincoln Power Fold Mirrors - Disables puddle lights

Anyone who did the Lincoln power fold change for the mirrors on FORScan ever had the issue of puddle lights not working after the change? Any fix yet?

I tried Lincoln fold and it does disable the puddle lights. Discussions over a year ago in various threads. No fix found that I ever saw... So I disabled Lincoln fold as I need the puddle lights more!

I have Lincoln auto fold and honestly never noticed this. I'll have to check. I want to say that the ground is lit when I go out at night ,but I could be mistaken as I don't go out to the truck a lot at night.

I agree! I just reverted it back to Ford Auto Fold (00). Makes it a lot better to use the puddle light than not have it turn on when it’s there tbh.

Most people don’t realize it honestly, you’re good. Definitely check and report back? Fair enough, it’s the first thing I noticed when I walked to the truck since everything lights up on approach but saw the puddle mirror lights off, thought it may be the wiring or something, nope everything’s good; double checked on FORScan, all good there too. I hate the normal auto fold where it opens on unlock instead of when you open/close the driver door. I like being able to get something out of the truck without unfolding the mirrors (going in any other door besides the driver door)

I do know on my 2019 the puddle lights do still light up with the Lincoln mod--something changed for the 21's for sure

I thought so! I know, try reverting back to Ford Auto Fold (00) if you want fit back. I hate it too but can’t go without puddle lights haha.

I just went out and experimented with this and got nowhere so looks like puddle lights are a trade-off with Lincoln autofold

think maybe it has something to do with the lincoln light being different because it displays the lincoln logo on the ground? or embrace or whatever they call it?

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking and I tried changing 740/741-04-07 **xx xxxx xx-- to logo puddles for ford/lincoln along with lincoln autofold but didn't make a difference. Did DDM/PDM self-test & reset afterwards too.

it basically folds the mirror when you lock the vehicle and unfold them when you unlock with fob
vice you hitting the fold button on the door in a nut shell

can create issue if your parked in a tight spot
i just leave mine out and hit fold button if we are in a tight parking area like hospital garage etc

"Lincoln auto fold allows you to leave the mirrors folded in when you open the door (driver door) and unfolds when you close the door but opening the other doors won’t unfold the mirrors. Ford power fold unfolds the mirrors as soon as you open the door, no matter what. "
