License plate LED replacements...

Wasnt sure if I should post this here or "What did you do to your F150 today?"

Its a small mod, but one everyone should look at doing this, due to the heat the stock bulbs put out.
I have a '22 Plat and the default bulbs are extremely hot and the discoloration of the plug proves it... (again, my truck is only 13 months old)

I swapped mine when it was just days old and you aren't kidding about the heat.

I had the fob in my pocket, so it activated the welcome lights.

By the time I touched the first naked bulb to remove it ... Well, no blisters but running it under cool water felt nice.

So, the lights were on for some short period of time and back off for a minute or so and still that hot.

This should be a sticky on "Have to do's" for new truck owners. I bought a 10 pack of bulbs for the entire families automobiles...

LOL I lied... mine is a 12-pack also and the exact same bulb and seller...

I'd have to find them to be sure of the brand but I bought a similar, 10 or 12 pack several yrs. ago to swap out the tail lights on my tractors.

I've had no failures.

Just lucky they are the right bulbs for the license plate.

aint that a crapper, my 2021 super duty was all leds
i was shocked to find my 22 150 all leds except for the license plate lights...saved ford 12 cents??? crazy as you know what

Mine is a 21 with halegons!

But I went a different direction! Put DD white bulbs in but wasn’t feeling it, swapped out to red!

I have a bag of those cheapie 194 LEDs and only have 2 left. They go quite a few places in many different vehicles. Provides plenty of light for the tag. I don't get the folks spending $40 on high output LEDs for the tag of all places. I wouldn't have any bulbs in it if such was legal --- hell I'd take the tag off for that matter.
