I've activated my panic button from inside the house probably a dozen times in the last few weeks. On my hip with a carabiner (sp), in a front pocket, in a jacket pocket..... Clearly it's user error, but has anyone else observed this? If so, what did you do? It seems that button is very sensitive!

I keep my carried fob rings rather simple. If you're having an issue, you've probably got too much shit on your key ring/s. I often have 2 different fobs w/ keys on my person and don't set off either one -- haven't done it once anyway.

I had a Ford Ranger with a similar key fob before it was crushed by a tree in my driveway. I kept my ranger key fob on a clip with 3 keys (1 house key and 2 small locker keys for work) attached to the front belt loop. I also tucked the fob into my pocket and god forbid I leaned over ANYTHING with my fob in my pocket and it would go off. Especially the tailgate.

Anyways, first thing I enabled in forscan with my f150 was “panic button requires 2 button presses”
I’m sure it’ll still go off… maybe I’ll disable the button some day if it does.

You can also try one of those rubber jackets. They make pressing a little harder. If that doesn't work then you can try to cut out the rubber section over the button to offer a little extra relief and raise the sides surrounding the button making it harder that way. Good luck.

There's also a setting you can change with forscan to either disable it completely, or require two button presses to activate. I went with the latter.

I wrapped black electrical tape over the button, 3-4 layers and it's worked really well, only one or two activations over 2 years.

I'm not the type to have a wad of keys and what I do carry, I want in my pants pocket but not being used to the modern fobs, I've been wondering what I'm going to do.

They're so big and so heavy and there isn't a lot of relief between the face and the buttons. I expect lots of false alarms and inadvertent locking and unlocking.
