For brand new leather going on a somewhat used seat, those Katzkins look great! Leather is not like cloth and will take time and temp changes to break in.

I do not think there would be anything an installer could do to make it tighter, and this is probably a good case of you see more defects then there really are. I look at your seats and think they look outstanding. Given time they will only get better.

You could also try a good conditioner to make the new leather more pliable. I use a product called Leather Honey.

Leather Cleaner & Conditioner FREE SHIPPING - Leather Honey

It is not a wipe on and wipe off product and takes a little work and time to apply, but I have found this product to be outstanding.

My XLT cloth is still very functional at year one, but what an upgrade those Katzkin leathers are! What a refresh they will be in another year or two :)
HA! My thoughts too. I have an Atlas Blue BAP and the leather seats are good, but could be better. Katzkin makes a nice black with blue trim that would look outstanding in my cab. :)

Hi all,

I had Katzkin installed on their authorized dealer couple days ago. Are these wrinkles look normal to you all? I am not an expert on this, but I feel like they did not install this right. It looks like the top part needed to be stretched more under heat and more foam to support tighter fit maybe?. Is this gonna look even worse in summer time? If it is, I'll contact katzkin and let them know I am not satisfied with the install.

I’d take it to another authorized dealer and tell them that even the dealership says it’s a piss ass install

Yeah, install is not great. It should fit much tighter to the seat without those surface wrinkles. Anybody that says “they’ll go away with time” is just making a poor excuse for a lazy install. I’m an upholsterer myself, and very familiar with Katzkin products, and I’d be embarrassed to let a truck leave the shop looking like that.

Also, they should have wrapped your console lid to match. Katzkin provides the part in their kit.

That's right, I just saw this video and he has no wrinkles like mine does . I just feel bad. This is my first pick up truck and I really wanted to look perfect. I sent them an email. Hopefully they do something about it.

I had mine done and the first thing the installer did was pull out all the leathers and set them in the sun to heat up. By time he pulled the first seat out and removed the cloth they were warm and ready to go on. I have the same pattern as that but in all black are they did not have many wrinkles. After a hot summer in Houston there are no wrinkles lol. I would think those could be worked out with a little heat.
