Similar to one of the first responses, I have a matching 5th wheel spare for all of my vehicles. Makes it easy when you get a nail/flat and makes tire rotations easy because you can just always have one going in and then out of rotation.

To the OP, I would just get two floor jacks. They’re cheap at Harbor Freight. I have two of the small Daytonas and have no issues. A few pumps at a time each side.

I wrote this below about my QuickJacks in another post about fluid changes. The QuickJacks are definitely great for tire rotations. I have also used the spare tire and done the five jacking actions for the four tire rotations described earlier in this post, before I had the QuickJacks.

“I have 7000TLX QuickJacks and glad I do. I’ve used them on several vehicles. That said, at nearly $2000 and 100lb each to lift off the wall and wheel (manhandle) into place then slide them under vehicle and lineup exactly in place then attach the hydraulic lines and lift it, I am not so sure it is any quicker than jackstands and a jack. Safer, yeah, I certainly think so. They also limit access from the sides so you have to crawl in from front or rear of vehicle to get underneath, With my truck I’d hit the open garage door overhead when lifting (garage not long enough to fit truck on these as they rotate up and back about a foot while lifting, so I have to use them outside in driveway with truck (cars are fine in my garage). So, again, I like them and glad I have them, but just be warned of the real issues before you drop the money on them.”

I have two floor jacks. I lift both sides of the front at the same time and put a jackstand under the frame rail on each side. I put a floor jack under the rear diff and lift. Once it's where it needs to go, I put the jackstands under the truck. If I am under my truck, I'll put a floor jack at mid point under the frame on each side and put a little pressure on it. I'd rather be a little safe than sorry.

I drive to Discount Tire around the corner and have them do it for free in 5mins because I bought the tires there.

Do you check the lug torque in the parking lot before you pull away?

I hate that I can't jack on the control arm on this truck. Not a major issue in the driveway but it can be a big deal if I have to change a tire on the side of the road or the beach.

The Discount Tire that I use torque down every lug with a torque wrench. Assuming they know the proper torque to use.
