Just curious how many on this forum actually use the truck for trucky things... I love all the new technology, powerboost engine, great fuel mileage, add ons, bed covers, lift kits, wheels, tints, ceramic coatings etc etc etc! I use it as a daily commuter, errand runner and family vehicle 95% of the time.

However, today I used it for the 5% where I use it like a truck. Today it was put it through some paces for the first time and it performed flawlessly. Did 3 trips to the dump with some heavy loads that filled the bed up with a bunch of weight (800-1000 pounds) and it didn’t blink like it’s supposed to. Even got some electric miles and 21mpg with all that weight... AMAZING!

There will also be a whole bunch of fishing and hunting in the future with coolers, rod holders and hopefully some trophy bucks in the back. Hauling treestands and 1,000 pound loads of corn off-road and a bunch of other fun trucky things! The 5% stuff is the reason why I bought a truck. And today my 2021 Gen 14 F150 did exactly what it was designed to do. False alarms, rusty axle and all... still love it!

Mine is mostly used as a daily driver to work and back. I do use it for hauling all sorts of stuff and for moving things around the property. I love the interior roominess of the Super Crew. So nice for all sorts of things.

I would like to comment, but my build date keeps getting pushed back. :(

I wanted a truck for DIY projects and so I can buy a bigger boat. My MDX is a 2005 and I have been using it for a lot for the above. Though my MDX can tow my current vehicle w/o issue and some things might be easier to haul in my MDX. I have always wanted a pickup and I regret not getting a truck earlier. That being said like most people here it will be a pavement queen 99% of the time. With the price of a XLT easily going into the $50k range, I don't know how many who would use it as a truck could afford one. Most trucks being used as trucks are as old as my MDX.

DIY type of truck use, but mostly daily driver.
Eventually it will tow a medium sized travel trailer.

Probably 10% truck use to eventually increase.

I compete in hunt tests with my dogs. I have used a Suburban but really wanted a dog box so a truck it is. 4x4 is a must as I'm off road for the competitions.

Love this! What kind of hunts for the dogs? Upland, waterfowl, other?

I'm probably at 10%, I fish pretty regular so pulling bass boat, some range target shooting so hauling target and all. Some home support hauling ect.

Best setup for me, big and roomy, can work, and is full of luxury. :ROFLMAO:

Still waiting on my truck to ship from KC.

I got my truck mostly for towing. I have a 25' travel trailer and camp just about every week April-November. Currently towing with a 2005 Dodge Dakota that struggles to pull the trailer (anything above 60mph or using the A/C while towing makes it overheat) so i'm going to be so happy to have a truck that can easily pull my camper. Been using the Dakota for 4 years ?.

I have a car for driving the 2 hours each way to work so towing is really the only thing I will use my truck for unless its snowing bad on a day I have to work, then I will drive it to work instead since it has 4X4.

Isn't the Dodge Dakota their smaller truck?? A 25" travel trailer sounds like way to much for that truck.

My trucks mostly get used for driving to work most of the year, but I do live on a family farm and there are weeks during the year where it gets a workout. Pulling 2000 gallon Anhydrous tanks in the spring and a 30' grain head for our combine in the fall.

Pulling the 2000 gallon tanks in the spring is always interesting. When it gets to the point where we are sitting in a line to get these tanks refilled and I'm surrounded by trucks with Powerstrokes, Cummins, and Duramax's...and I'm sitting in a half ton with a 3.5L Ecoboost. I've lost count how many times I've heard "that 5.0 pull that ok?" You should see the look on their faces when I tell them its "just" a V6.

Having the Propower option is going to be a godsend whenever we need to do any repairs in the fields.

It is. Mine has the 4.7L V8 in it. Per the books it should have been alright. Forget now what its max tow rating with the tow package was but whatever it was, I specifically got my trailer cause its GVWR was ~20% under the max tow rating of my Dakota. Figured that would be a good buffer, but apparently not good enough.

I want to go camping in the mountains eventually and I would never even think to take the Dakota there towing cause it struggles sometimes on just small rolling hills in Michigan lol.

Well, you going to be in a whole different world with that F150 pulling it for sure!!

What drive train are you getting?
