Is Msrp a good deal

I agree with the sentiment and up to last month most I've paid in the past on an order had been x plan plus ( minus actually) any incentives and customer cash, but I have a feeling when 2023 pricing comes out people may wish they had not been so hung up on term and focused instead on the numbers.

Currently those that held at least 100 shares of Ford stock for six months were eligible to receive a Ford X-Plan PIN. However, Ford will be ending this program as of June 1st, 2022. Shareholders that qualify for this program still have a few days to act. Ford included a form with its shareholder letter that can be filled out with basic information such as the person’s name, address, and the vehicle they’re interested in. Shareholders can submit that form, along with proof of Ford stock ownership, and still receive a PIN that effectively gives them X-Plan pricing through December 31st, 2022.

That ship sailed a month ago. What you quoted was written in May.

I get it through work as a supplier. They haven't ended that...yet.

I understand that, but not everyone does from what I’ve seen. i did wonder about suppliers ,is that going to continue as i assume employee will as well?

Dealers around me in Florida are adding 3K to 6K over MSRP to higher end trucks. One Dealer will sell at MSRP however you MUST buy their added protection package at $5,700 and that's not a ESP plan. Just paint protection / pinstrip / wheel locks / etc.

I was able to get a Nevada dealer to sell me one hat had been ordered back in Dec 2021 At msrp. They did insist on the protection plan, paint and etching(bull shit) for $1000. I believe they were caught in a straw buyer scheme and were making amends as Ford was nailing them for it with future orders. Any inventory was getting the $8,000 markup. There wasn't any at the time so somewhat mute. I could have gotten x plan under the wire but was looking at 8 months and who knows what features dropped. Ford threw in the $2500 bonus to appease the x plan people so it ended up under 70k. I wouldn't have ordered the Max towing or the B/C but it is nice to have.

Bill Jarrett Ford in Avon Park, FL does not do this. Granted, Avon Park is a smallish town, but this is one of the best dealers (of any manufacturer) I have ever worked with. Super chill and always under MSRP. Maybe not as big a discount as some others with the custom orders, but I got my highly optioned Lariat PB 502A (only missing the sunroof and B&O Unleashed) for $4k under MSRP. Their inventory is always pretty light for F-150s, but I don't know if that's because they them so fast or don't order too many in. Mostly now it seems like XLTs.

There is a Jarrett network of other dealers and they will transfer trucks from their other dealers, but I have no idea if those other dealers work the same on price like Bill Jarrett in AP.

When I was looking though, there were dealers in FL asking for upwards of $15k over msrp and I told them to bug off.

Got mine for 3% below the invoice and saved about 10k under msrp, Tax title and paperwork did jump it up a bit though

Frank, even the dealer I ordered my PB from advertised $2,000 off on orders. I ordered mine and when I received the order receipt to sign, no discount. I asked where is the 2K? They said, OH, not for that truck.... To this day I don't have anything that the dealer signed locking in the price... Just verbal the it "should" be price protected and no ADM or other games at purchase. Not comfortable with this deal.

Supercub, I should have done more research regarding Ford shares and the X-plan. I have well above the requirement and ordered in May. Of course they don't do it anymore, of course...

I have a custom order lariat placed for x plan pricing, but continued delay in production had me continue searching here and there. I found a nearby dealer with STX that is willing to sell at msrp. Wanted to ask if that’s a decent deal or have you’ll been able to go below msrp for trucks on the lot

No….not to me anyway. I never paid more than invoice since my first new Econoline van in 1978. Usually pay below invoice. Might be a good deal to some people now a days but I’ll just keep what I have before paying MSRP. I got my 2021 for $3,000 below, but that was in February 2021.

If you can't find a player ....

Go to the middle of Iowa. If you build it, it will come. Save 8-10K. Pay one reasonable doc fee and don't be harassed by the finance guy. You may "waste" a thousand or so miles of warranty driving it back, but if that bothers you, buy Granger's ESP for 50 over involve and have a 8 year/100,000 mile warranty and still be up 6-8k over MSRP.

Plus...get exactly what you want. That's too much coin to settle.

I'm headed there soon to pick up mine. Part of me want's to reach out to all my local dealers who said "Granger won't really sell it to you for that. there's a ton of hidden costs".
