I’m trying to imagine what having Alexa does to improve my truck. I don’t currently use Alexa.

I was never offered Ford steaming with my 2021 job 1 F-150 Limited. Without Ford streaming I wouldn’t be able to stream music over the internet if I understand how Alexa works.

I subscribe to SiriusXm. Seems to work ok for me. But not grandson. No TikTok radio. Will explain to him Ford issue. Better he’s disappointed in Ford than me..

Use Nav traffic. When it expires maybe I’ll just use Waze for traffic info. Route mapping is adequate. Would use Apple or Google maps for driving in an unfamiliar city.

Any info is appreciated.

Sounds like in your case you don't get any benefit to the Ford streaming. If you are happy with Sirius then keep using that.

You can turn off Alexa in menu I believe. From my understanding it's no different than talking to one of the little boxes in your house. I don't use it either. I use Google assistant, and I can do that through the truck if I want.

Depending which navigation you have it is either a pointless moving map or still a usable GPS without traffic data when the subscription ends.

I think most would switch to Android Auto or Apple Carplay rather than pay for the Ford navigation. That is my plan but I do like having something independent of my phone.

Alexa has now invaded my life. She's my Copilot, my DJ, my Navigator, and even my grocery list and personal calendar keeper. It be like getting a divorce to turn her off.
And she's gotta be the least expensive girlfriend ever.

My ford streaming expired, but I can ask alexa to play from amazon music and she plays. I dont know if thats a bug or trial but its working for free and I love it.

I feel the exact way @Snakebitten , Alexa has become the best feature somehow. I say set destination to home and my navigation starts, calls anybody I wish, tells me jokes, traffic, weather, turns my TV on when am home, changes lights in my room, Hell it can announce anything I say at home If I want. For example: when I am 10 minutes away from home I ask Alexa to announce "I love you honey and be there in 10 for the delicious food you must have made for me" and it just relays that message on my alexa capable TV or the Echo DOT, Obviously its an example.?

This is how I leverage Ford Streaming.....

First, in this capture, you can see both phones.
Bruce's A13 is an Android that belongs to the truck. It stays with the truck. And it doesn't have a SIM. It does a lot of things too. (see further below)

Pawpaws S21 is a personal phone. It's purpose in Sync is ONLY phone calls and corporate email monitoring.
(Email is the shortcut on the lower Nav bar)

The music streaming below is Spotify from the SIM-less Powerboost A13 using Ford Streaming (der's some cowboy trying to take the picture against all that Glare)

That same SIM-less A13 is also the OBDLink host for monitoring all the PIDs on the KingRanch Powerboost land yacht.

This is the functionality I've been looking for! Thank you sir!
