For people like me who want or NEED a RCSB, we have no choice. Nobody else builds Full Size Regular Cab Short Beds anymore.
Ford is also the only ones building an extended cab with 8’ box.

limits options of stores to go to
[/QUOTE]

I didn't know that.

But... I NEED the 122" wheel base for my uses. I have to tow equipment up & down narrow, twisty mountain dirt (and sometimes muddy) roads.

Those trucks that require a two-way radio to talk from the front to the back won't work for me....

They should be making your payments while it is in their possession with the engine inoperable for a warranty item. I know that there is a huge supply chain problem that is keeping the ER m from fixing it, but if they have the item to go into a new build (not that we want to take it from an individual's special order, but a dealer stock order...), then they have the item.

This is a great point I hadn’t even considered looking at from a legal point of view.

If the dealership repairing your truck is moving dealer orders with 5.0s… plenty of heads have passed through.

My new Head arrived. They said I'll be able to pick up my truck by the end of the week. Which means "next week in Ford time".

I’ll be going over my “New Truck Check List” all over again and refusing delivery if ONE nut, bolt or fastener is out of place!

And I’ll be expecting to see documentation for the repairs of any “recalls”.

Then…. It’s BALLS TO THE WALL!which is going to suck at $6.00 a gallon but, FCUK IT!

I’m going to make sure this thing is 100%.

…more to come.

Will my 157” come with one of the two-ways standard? Do I need a foghorn, special lighting and licensing? ?

I’m jealous of the RSCB folks. I need a Crew and can’t give up 6.5’ bed. Thankfully, the windy narrow TN foothills I frequently tow are basically etched in my brain.

I send you pics of my RCBS when it shows up.

Catch 22. I dont need or want a back seat. Kids are grown and out of the house. But I'm limited what is offered with the RCBS.
Why the raptor/tremor is crew cab only is beyond stupid. Short wheel base is best for off road. So why not offer it?

So FX4 is all i could get. Will modify as needed. Am looking forward to the 5.0 with 3.73 lockers. Should be fun.

I hear'ya... the RCSB doesn't work for the vast majority. That's why they're so hard to find and why nobody builds them anymore.

I bought mine specifically for off road towing and I was shocked by what you "can't get" with the RCSB.

But, I got everything available except the Power Tailgate, Sliding rear window and Block heater.

I'm pretty impressed with all the tech I WAS able to get and like you... I can add the things Ford deleted with a few exceptions.

Since you can't store anything in the RCSB, I put the Decked drawers in the bed with a solid Tonneau so all the crap that would normally end up in a big pile on back seat can go in the bed, out of sight, out of the weather and triple locked. Anything I need to “haul” in my truck can go in the trailer.

I guess we’re lucky Ford offers a 122” wheelbase Full Size P/U truck at all since NOBODY else does.

I opted for the 3.31 lockers since the vast majority of my towing will be in 4x4 Low anyway. I don’t know how the 5.0 will perform with your 3.73 but mine is insane! The 1st time I went to pass someone on the freeway in heavy traffic I’m pretty sure I would have wrecked it if not for the tech. I was in NO WAY prepared for what that Coyote does when you spank it!

…you’re gonna have fun!

Back on the road 1-year after I ordered my new F150.

A tip for people planning to order a new truck...

I confirmed a couple things with my Ford mechanic that I thought some of you might find interesting…

If you order your truck with the Snow Plow option (I did) for $50.00 you get a 50amp factory wiring harness that plugs in under your dash AND… a high output Alternator.

When I ordered mine, the Snow Plow was powered via a switch on the dash but that changed on 7/7/21 (4-months after I placed my order) NOW it’s a touch screen menu option.

I was planning to use that switch to power additional lighting but now I have a “Hill Decent” switch where my Snow Plow switch was supposed to be.

As disappointing as that was, the Hill Decent works GREAT when you’re creeping down a steep mountain rocky, rutted dirt road.

But still… for $50.00 just getting the high output Alternator is worth it.

Also… the 2nd Alternator kit IS available for the new 5.0

I doubt many people will want to “go there” but I plan to install A LOT of electronics in my truck so having a 2nd, completely independent power source (rather than a “Dual Battery”) is definitely under consideration.

Although, having the high output Alternator from the Snow Plow option might make that unnecessary.

1000+ miles on my replaced head and so far.. it's 100%

I'm getting 24-26 MPG when I'm "nice".

20-22 when I'm not.

18.5 when I thrash it!

It gets to 110MPH very quickly and seems to be very happy cruising there.

THIRSTY... but "happy"!

Also... I haven't noticed much difference between "Eco" mode or "Normal" mode and running Premium has actually lowered my MPG by a couple MPG.

My mechanic who is a GOD ...said a lot of people who complain about “noise” from their 5.0 (I don’t know how you can hear “noise” unless you have after market exhaust) have found that Premium Gas quiets the 5.0 down.

The additional “power” I expected from Premium gas is difficult to assess since the 5.0 is just a fcuking monster no matter what.

…so I’ll be going back to the $5.69 a gallon Regular instead of the $6.29 a gallon Premium.

As for the indestructible Tundra, the '22s now fitted with only the twin turbo 3.5 are having a bunch of passenger side turbo failures. All over the forums. Most before 1K miles.

I was unable to find an actual part # to confirm there is a difference between alternators on non snow plow optioned vehicles.

I'm a little skeptical being the relatively low $50 up-charge & what the Ford website itself is showing but I wouldn't complain if it was H.O.

There is a physical button on my 22.

don’t get too wound up about it..
I have just under 13k and have not had any issues at all.
But, I don’t beat on mine at all either (not suggesting others do)
no weird engine noises
no oil consumption.

Transmission is weird to me tho, but I don’t know if it’s me or the trans.
This is my first automatic pickup ever.
For what it's worth... 26K later it's 100% and I beat the holy F#@KING PISS out of this thing!
I drive it "like I stole it!"
I drive it like a 17 year old!
I've owned many different flavors of muscle cars over the years but this thing scares the living piss out of me.

It's one thing to be sitting down close to the ground when you're slamming gears in a Mustang but sitting up high in this F150 4X4 when that 5.0 erupts... HOLY SHIT!

There is NO QUESTION that I would have totaled it on more than one occasion if not for the Traction Control Tech.

And to go from that to climbing the side of a mountain like a billy goat... Yeah! I'm having fun!!
