@Larrymoe ... I'm 50 ... (I just wanted to try it out... you're right... it was easy)

OP says he "let it go"... then proceeds to post a click-bait-titled thread on a public internet-based forum and also reply to every single post, thereby demonstrating his incredible ability to NOT "let it go".

Depends on what you mean by letting it go. If it's the damage then yes I have 100% let it go. But that doesn't mean I have to keep tolerating the keyboard warriors here.

I think there's a lesson equally important to the truck damage that you have the opportunity to learn here.

Okay... we tried to offer some honest and pragmatic advice and perspective.... You've had a lot of time to just reply to the group something like, "Thanks everyone, looking back it was pretty minor, and I'm sure my relative didn't intend to do it. Perhaps I could have parked elsewhere, or maybe I could have moved my truck, oh well... live and learn.".... It's time to go full sarcasm....

Two small dings from a license plate? You must be absolutely traumatized. I can’t even imagine the emotional toll of seeing your pristine plastic blemished by two nicks the size of a piece of rice. The horror.

I admire your bravery for attending family gatherings at the risk of such a betrayal. It must be exhausting carrying the emotional weight of now not having the most cosmetically perfect truck in the driveway. Honestly, I don’t know how you find the strength to go on.

And the fact that you ‘let it go’—multiple times, in fact, just to make sure we knew you ‘let it go’—well, that’s the kind of spiritual growth normally only seen in Hallmark movies.

Maybe write a book. 'Letting It Go: My Journey Through Two Dings and the Valley of Tears.' And a sequel, of course: 'The One-Way Mirror – A Masterclass in Blaming Others for My Own Screw-ups'.

Here's some other book / movie ideas for you:

  • “Stationary but Still the Star: How I Made a Family Member’s Mistake All About Me”
  • “Victimized by a Nudge: The Saga of a Parked Truck and an Inflated Ego”
  • “Touched, Not Totaled: My Harrowing Tale of Cosmetic Imperfection and Emotional Persecution”
  • “Immovable Object, Unstoppable Ego: A Study in Overreaction”
  • “No Fault of My Own : Surviving Minor Dings and Major Delusions”
  • “Letting It Go (Again, and Again, and Again): Weaponized Forgiveness for the Petty and Proud”
  • “The Parked Truck Diaries: A Memoir of Pain, Plastic, Pettiness, and Passive Aggression”
Just don’t forget to update us on whether you need counseling, repainting, or an exorcism. We’re all here for you, hero."

I'm sure most people in this forum are glad your truck bumper got completely mangled and destroyed. I mean, what's another 17 years of saving. You seem to deserve it.

Do you think I care what keyboard warriors and cowards feel like?

With the sheer amount of audacity and idiocity in your replies, and still looking to "win" Actually yes! You do care! Care so much, in fact, you made it your duty to reply to each "coward" Project much?

The only idiots I find are the ones here that can't move on. Keep at it

Atta-boy @anonymous1977 keep pouring fuel on the fire. I'll bet this is exactly what you did during "the incident".

Made me think of a bunch of new books for you to write as our resident expert:

  • “Gasoline & Grievances: How to Keep a Family Fender Tap Burning Forever”
  • “Flame War: A Survivor’s Guide to Doubling Down on Minor Inconveniences”
  • “How to Fan the Flames When the Fire’s Already Out” (Hint- Take it to the Internet)
  • “From Ding to Definance: An Expert’s Guide to Escalating Non-Issues”
  • “The Art of Overkill: How to reply to advice you don't like”
  • “Let It Go (But Just Kidding): How to Keep Bringing It Up Until Everyone’s Exhausted”
  • “Firestarter: Memoirs of a Man Who Couldn’t Leave Well Enough Alone”
  • “The Overreaction Engine: High Performance Emotion for Low Impact Situations
  • “Still Parked, Still Pissed: The Tragedy of a Truck Slighted and a Man Scorned”
  • “License Plate Assault: How I Witnessed a Crime Against Plastic and Lost My Composure”
  • “How Dare You Tap Me: A Bumper’s-Eye View of Overreaction in Real Time”
  • “Collision Course: The Story of a Calm Moment Turned Theatrical Meltdown”

One good thing about the Internet is the ability to classify messages as spam. This will auto redirect nonsense notifications to a folder not worth looking at. Guess what? All these responses are going there. So keep typing.
