So I had this bright idea to reload the Livernois 93 e-boost tune.

I did the normal procedure, and the flash was successful. I hopped in to fire it up, and every possible warning ever popped up on the display. I wasn't able to to connect to the vehicle from the MyCalibrator device or forscan either. After a few key cycles and the same effect - I started freaking out, assuming I bricked my ECU.

After a thinking beer, I went back to take a second look. Yeah, it helps when you plug the ECU back in...

All is good now. ?

So yeah, maybe there's a bit more going on than I thought. I'm seeing these 'permanent' codes in OBDlink, even after a reset (including from MyCalibrator).. No light on the dashboard though.

I'll call in a few favors.. :D Any ideas @Jesse-Infotainment @HammaMan

It runs and drives fine, however. ?‍♂ Maybe it'll just go away on its own after a few miles?

They all look like communication errors. After clearing they returned?

Yup. They stayed after clearing codes and KAM. From what little I can tell from the internets, it may take a few drive cycles to clear the 'permanent' codes.

Lesson learned - don't turn on your truck with the ECU disconnected..

I would reflash it back to stock. I can load it a different way. May have been a bad file loaded.

I can send you the file if youre able to load it into the programmer you have

Thinking beer!

I would lean towards these being "oh $hit" errors from the ECU being unplugged when you tried to power up. Hopefully they clear.

Does any of this make it's way to whatever Ford database accesses these trucks? Can they use this against you for future warranty repairs or do the logs clear out after a period of time?

I took a 30 mile drive or so earlier today and nothing seems off. I'm going to give it a few drive cycles to see if the codes self-clear. If not, I'll try Jesse's suggestion.

It all reports to the cloud and anyone with PTS can see it. Being used against you? Doubt that. They will just assume it was a random event and move on.

I'm talking about Ford logging ECU flashing centrally, and they can definitely tell when you bring it in. And with this info, they can potentially reject warranty claims if the truck is still covered under the factory warranty. That's what I meant by "holding it against you".

The European car dealers have been using this tactic for some time. An ECU flash comes up as soon as they plug it in for diagnostics, and it's one of the first things they check if something breaks. This is why a lot of people still under warranty use those plug-in tuner chips without flashing the ECU. I'd rather keep my warranty in place, imo.

So did it successfully reapply the tune?

My tech support request from May 7th and a tune request I submitted on the 13th are both unanswered and I'm tired of driving in slug mode. ?

I never installed the OTA that seemed to affect you (and others). I simply pulled a dumbass move and forgot to plug things back in after I changed to the e-boost tune - it's definitely installed and working. I had some 4A TC-off fun today in the rain. :)
