I have not yet towed anything with mine. I am wondering if it is the towing that causes the bolts to break, or whether it is torque etc.
That would be the $64,000 question. Don’t think Ford even knows. As of now there is no permanent fix. Supposedly they couldn’t duplicate the problem.

They tend to use the "Cannot Dulicate" phrase to avoid having to open more cans of worms. The steering in my truck seems to pull to the left noticeably when making a left turn that is banked. I took it in for that and other things and of course got the "Cannot Duplicate" excuse.

Well that, combined with another poster that says he's never towed anything and his were broken on both sides makes it possibly sound like bad parts and not design problem. Maybe the parts are simply too hard. (brittle) (bad metallurgy) One would think they certainly could test this and come up with a fix in less than 6 months.....If I buy another vehicle it ain't gonna be a FORD. These vehicles are simply way too complex for even factory-trained technicians to diagnose, repair and maintain.

I ordered my new truck on Nov 14th. Got an immediate response that the order was accepted. Been watching my Ford.com account and see that my vehicle is in production as of Jan 18th. Because I need to arrange travel to pick it up I have been using the chat. And yes I do have a window sticker and VIN. Told last week that my vehicle was built and scheduled for delivery on the 18th of Feb. Wanted too verify that today and told by chat that my vehicle is in Production and ETA should be March 17th to the 21st. Very discouraging, not because I am in a hurry but because the info is so convoluted. I guess I will just have to wait till the salesman calls and says that the truck is there....Disappointed in Ford communication.
And I thought the shit I went through 2-years ago was just a "Pandemic Thing".

I guess it's just a Ford Thing!
