What's the average usage you get from your infotainment system before necessitating a sync reboot?

I have to reboot mine every other use/startup, if not every use, sometimes multiple times a use because of a freeze, black screen, or no audio issue.

Last one was Nov when I installed the Unreal Theme. Before that, May of 2021 when I got the truck.

I have never manually rebooted sync on my truck in the 2ish years I've had it. I have had sync freeze on startup and I let the system auto reboot after maybe a minute or so. For me the freezing on start seems to be an indicator of the 12v battery soc is low. Any audio issues I have had I think are more related to wireless android auto rather than the sync system because switching audio source the switching back to android auto fixes it.

Never since August of 2022, when I took delivery.

Mine fails to start up every month or two and self resets.

Sometimes I hard reset when CarPlay connects but doesn’t output any sound when playing music. This happens once or twice a week. I know I can disconnect and reconnect CarPlay to accomplish the same thing, but resetting takes less time and button presses.

Glad I'm not alone. Couple days is the longest I've gone without a reset. Long drives (6-8hrs) I may need to reset it multiple times.

Sounds like we have a similar bug.

I only reboot it when I update AA along with the phone. About every 2 weeks or so. These are computers like any other and a reboot cleans up the ram, which for sync 4 is lacking.

The failures I have look just like ram failures on a desktop, can see it thinking and then locking up or fail to load. Is there a way to benchmark any of the hardware?

This is 2015 hardware with 1GB of ram.

Had my truck since July of 2022 and I’ve probably had to force a reset a half dozen times. Sometimes due to Apple Car-Play issues where I’ve had to reboot my phone as well. Other times it’s been due to weird issues like the entire left bank of speakers turning off or screen freeze on the head unit itself. Seems, at least for myself that these gremlins pop up either after an iPhone OS update, or one of the OTA updates from Ford
