I am keeping my truck as long as I want to until the wheels fall off or decide something new. My last vehicle was the ‘14 fusion with 30k miles on it back in 2018. I put at least 80k miles in ten years until it became problematic last year so I ended up trading in.

Well since I am 72 and still have my 03 F250 with 285K on it I am tempted to say forever. But who knows, all the electronics and computer controls do make me nervous.

I hear ya on the modern tech risk, especially compared to my still-owned '05 F150.

I reduced the trepidation relating to all the 'high tech' on my '22 by buying a 10-year PremiumCare ESP from Granger Ford and rolling that cost into the original 0%APR financing.

With that, I'm at least deferring any nervous feelings for a decade. ?

I bought a Ford 100K warranty because of the electronics. The only work on my 03 has been regular maintance. The one time I took the 23 in the dealership did not instill me with confidence. We will see how this goes.
